It seems like a decent price drop for a JBL soundbar. I couldn't find many reviews online but google reviews are mostly positive

  • Bluetooth does not connect
    Sync issues

    • JBL usually make good stuff. Maybe you got a dud? Warranty exchange?

    • had one for about a year, no problems with bluetooth using Android ..

annoyingly need to switch to bluetooth, not always on.

hmm looks to be missing a sub woofer.

    • on the jbl website it says it has an integrated sub

      • Im no audio engineer, but I believe its the large ported enclosure that contributes to much of the sub performance. something that is physically impossible in such a small form factor

2 channel soundbars are pretty average…

I'm guesing the tartget market is people who don't even understand the concept of channels.

All this is is two stereo speakers placed in a plastic shell and the label "soundbar" slapped on the box.

I miss in the 2000s when real home theaters were common. Not this moden rubbish. We've gone backwards.

      • in its defense, its comparable to PC satellite speakers but in a form factor that can go under the monitor to save on desktop real estate. shame it aint 2.1ch

i have a 2.0 soundbar in the bedroom and a 5.1.2 in the tv room

just different requirements sometimes like i dont have the space and missus didnt want a booming sub sound coming from the bedroom waking up the kids for late night watching

    • Agreed. You'd want a centre channel for better dialogue otherwise you'll need to use "Voice Enhancement" or subtitles

And a sub (X.1 channel) for low frequencies so other sounds aren't drowned out.

Have this. it's not bad, but if i had my time again i'd spend more and get something better

Have a couple of soundbars and also surround setups. Much better immersive audio experience for the $$$ by having proper speakers (and a sub) in the correct locations. Of course its more obtrusive and a pain to setup. A soundbar is a big step up from the TV speakers though.

If on a budget, pickup a unloved surround system on Marketplace, may need to use optical, although some also do HDMI.

    • Agreed but few bargains to be found unless you spend hours haggling. Sellers have no concept of what a fair price is for an end of sale, end of support, no warranty used product is. If you do try your luck dont get one with felt covering for speakers they are usually torn.
