It is not the cheapest. I posted it just in case someone is looking for one.

This is a 4000Pa model and one of the most popular cheap robot vacuums on OzBargain. I personally use this, and it has been going well for the last nine months.

  • How does one use these without a dock? Does it just return to a defined spot that you then would self-empty and plug in for recharge? At $220, with the above reviews this is very much nearing impulse purchase territory. Do the docks go on sale much?

      • huh??

        • Replied to the wrong thread , I don't have dock, just empty manually, I don't have pet

    • ATL for the dock on Amazon is $160

    • +3

It comes with a standard charging dock. It automatically returns to the charger when vacuuming is complete or charge is low. You need to manually empty the vacuum regularly when using this charger.

The optional dock is a self-emptying station and charging dock. It empties the vacuum every time it docks, so you can go months without attending to the machine at all, depending on your household dirt levels.

My upstairs has two levels separated by some stairs, so I have the self emptying dock in the larger area, and keep the original charging-only dock in the other area. I simply change room maps and drop the unit in the smaller area every now and then. It cleans the area and recharges on the smaller dock, so I don't need to remember to move it back to the larger area until I get around to it.

So if you buy the vacuum and the optional self-emptying dock, you effectively have a second charger for somewhere else.

      • wait, you can have two maps? how do you do that?

        • You can have up to 5 maps stored.

While viewing the current map, go to Setting > Room Map Manage. Save any current map and name the map.

Then just go to the same page to load any saved map as you need it.

    • I have the dock downstairs. To do upstairs I just carry the vac up and start it. Obviously it can’t dock once the cleaning cycle is complete, so it roams aimlessly upstairs searching for the dock. After a while it shuts down. No issues, just carry downstairs and dock it.

    • The unit comes with a charger dock. When you have a self-empty dock, it charges the unit, too. The only downside is that you have to refill the water and solution for mopping; otherwise, it is fully automated to a degree.

  • Does it just return to a defined spot that you then would self-empty and plug in for recharge?

    Come with charging base.

Had anyone used this with Home Assistant?

    • +3

It works with Google Assistant, but it only works with smart cleaning.

    • +1

yeah, it just uses the tuya integration. i haven't mucked around with it much, but initially it gives you:
      - battery status
      - vacuum controls (start/stop/pause/return to dock/suction power)
      - various sensors and things for brush lifetimes, number of cleans, cleaning area
      - some other switches and buttons (do not disturb, some reset buttons, volume, etc)

you can set the mode (eg zone cleaning) but i'm unsure yet if you can tell it to clean a certain area.

  • I got this from last deal for $239, funny little guy :D

  • How does it go with rugs?

    • +3

It works fine on our rugs.

    • I have numerous Persian-style rugs and its fine.

  • Have two of these for two different levels in the house.

Bought the SL60 first then got the SL68 both with no docks.

Use both for daily vacuum & weekend mop function.

Have a dog that sheds a lot of hair so weekly roller clean job takes 2 minutes manual work.

Best gadgets we ever invested in.

Best thing is now we have no arguments on who is cleaning the house or have a messy hair on the floor anymore.

So I can say marriage saved for $500

    • Can you compare the two models? Any significant differences?

      • +1

SL60 has two brushes & SL68 has single brush but surprisingly dose the same job both run for an hour so clearly better design or vacuum motor

  • I have this and like my old Xiaomi one better. The Lubluelu runs out of charge very quickly compared to the Xiaomi and the dust bin is much smaller.

    • I bought the larger dustbin for this reason and I only need to empty it weekly even though it vacuums daily throughout the week. The battery life is the biggest con of this vac in my opinion. It just manages to cover my house, but I know it won't in a year's time.

My plan is to eventually get a second vac and assign them to different parts of the house.

      • link to larger dustbin pls

        • eBay lulebel store sometimes has stick

  • I’ve got some rugs in my house, anyone know the maximum height these things can climb?

    • I’ve got some rugs in my house,

I think rugs should be fine, I have no problem.

It can even climb into my downstairs toilet room from tile to tile but not upstairs from carpet to tile.

      18mm

  • Mostly happy with mine. Have the extra dock that it can empty into. Sometimes doesn't find it but rare. Also does anyone know if you adjust the option where it needs to charge to 80% to resume? I want to make it lower.

  • We have this vacuum and would recommend. Family of 4 and now with cat. Happy with it on a whole but we have two (minor) issues:
    1. It disconnects from a time to time (every week or two) and needs to be re-set to re-connect to the network.
    2. As others have said, the roller does get messy with hair and needs to be cleaned manually. About once a week (we run it about x5 a week over two floors)

Again, would recommend and considering buying this again for the upper floor.

Is this the same as the 60 plus ? If so - (and it looks the same) I bought one on offer for a similar price a few months ago (discount when you included a spare dustbox). It has been awesome for the price - I have a large house - 2 storey with multi-levels and lots of floor board and a mix of carpetted areas. The mapping can be easily established with the initial lidar scan of discrete zones which can in turn be subdivided and then tailored for different timings and cleaning intensity, mopping or not etc.

It hasn't fallen down stairs yet ;)

The dog was not a fan initially but now isn't bothered by it.

The first cleans in carpetted bedrooms led to a few tangles on the brush bar with stray socks or hair scrunchies etc but it notifies of issues and waits for you to help out.

Overall it is keeping the place impressively clean - especially the large kitchen and dining and living area floorboards which previously showed up a lot of little bits of leaf or fluff.

I haven't bothered buying the auto-empty dock as it looks quite bulky and a bit ugly (like most do really) and it's no hardship to empty it once it has returned and is recharging.

    • Doesn't the SL60PLUS come with the auto empty dock?

  • Does it need an active wifi connection to continue operating?

    • On some of the reviews they say it needs a 24/7 internet connection to work. It sends data back to servers in China.

      • A lot of devices do this these days unfortunately :(

I have a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro, so anything IoT has it's own wireless SSID and VLAN and is completely isolated from my main network.

If you have a router that allows this it's always good practice.

        • Just curious, how do you inteface with the devices via your phone app if it has its own SSID and VLAN?

          • @samfisher5986: All these devices actually speak to a home base in the cloud which is tied to your account. Your phone app speaks to this "home base" or "portal" which then basically tunnels you back to your devices.

The devices themselves have NO IDEA they're on a seperate LAN or anything. For all they know they're on a network that has internet. The main network is simply hidden to them.

What I'm saying in summary, is that the phone app knows no different. It just works. Putting stuff on an isolated VLAN and seperate SSID doesn't stop it at all from being internet connected, just stops it from seeing all the other devices attached to the router.

            Am I making sense?

Any router that supports multiple SSID and VLANs (more and more do these days) can be used to set up IoT devices in their seperate little island safe from all your other devices.

Not necessarily. After you set up with a Wi-Fi connection, it can only do smart cleaning without Wi-Fi, but you have to manually press the button to run and stop each time.

      • +1

Can confirm this. I moved out of a house and with no internet connection I just pressed the button and it cleaned the place up. The map and cleaning instructions for the various zones were saved when there was internet the day before.

I suspect most of the hardware for these robots come from a couple of factories OEM etc and maybe even software is bought OEM and customised.

IE most of these ones will be very similar in function.

build quality, support, may differ between more expensive brands.

    • software is where the difference comes in.

Thank you! Bought this with the dock since my roborock S5 of nearly 5y has been having charger issues lately

  • Thanks bought one with the dock for downstairs, leave the old one upstairs so I don’t need to keep moving it between floors

  • Sounds like a good unit

  • Sounds like labluegirl😅

  • I have this vacuum since the last sale and I can't say anything bad about it…

It vacuums our carpeted areas every day, and mops our tiled areas every second day.

Some quirks with the app, but not too difficult to work around.

Only potential issue I've come across is the spare parts (filters, brushes, batteries etc) are perpetually sold out on their website, and they don't respond to queries.

  • Is this exactly the same as the deebot N8 I bought for 300$ during prime day?

  • I purchased my first one of these about 12 months ago and it is brilliant. I've since purchased two more, one for upstairs and one for the parents. I've not had experience with other brands but this does a great job. I don't think suction is everything and don't run mine at full strength anyway. The mapping is solid, just remember to save a good may so you can set it back as it can sometimes get the orientation confused and a room skews but resetting the map is a couple of clicks. It does not have AI so I guess that is why it can't avoid tangles on shoe laces or other cords but we (including the kids) have got into the habit very quickly of not leaving things lying around the house. Love it.

  • How good is this really? I'd like to hear from someone who downgraded from a Roborock to this. Is there any going back?

    • +1

I went from a debot N8+ down to this after smashing the N8 due to losing maps every time i tried to use it, Its honestly way better ! i thought spending $799 to get the "Better" brand was the way to go but not in this case.

  • I had a Deebot N8, and after months of dealing with mapping issues, I got so frustrated that I smashed it and threw it in the bin. Later, I bought one of these from Amazon for $180, figuring that simpler might be better. This thing makes Deebots look like crap! It has never lost its map, never failed to return to its charger, and picks up way more than the Deebot. Plus, it has the Y mop function that works really good.

  • Lefant M320 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, 6000Pa Strong Suction, 210 Minute Runtime, Self-Recharging, 800ML Visible Dustbin, Compatible with Alexa, Ideal for Pet Hair, Black $239, not sure about this model and brand name

  • My favorite feature is that if you don’t update the firmware you can connect to the Bluetooth in it and get the thing to play music as it merrily cleans the house. They patched out the glitch but it continues to amuse.

  • Has anyone been able to get room specific commands through Google assistant working? I've named the robot lulu.

"Hey Google, turn lulu on" works

"Hey Google, clean kitchen with Lulu" doesn't.

"Hey Google, clean kitchen" doesn't work either.

    • It depends on how you like your smart app to Google Home. I name it as "Dusty" When I say, "Hey, google, start cleaning." it recognise dustry as clenering device and start cleaning. Hope it helps

    • I cannot for the life of me get it to clean specific rooms either… “device has not yet been set up” error every time. However cleaning of all rooms works perfectly fine with “hey google, start cleaning” or “hey google, start the robo vac”.

The product description and instructions in the manual clearly states that it should be able to do specific rooms.

  • Anyone where to buy cheap dust bag for the dock ?

  • To anyone with one of these do the LED's on the top stay on the entire time when the machine is on the dock

Bought one of these for my folks to replace their broken Dreame D9 and my old lady is worried it's not meant to

    • Yeah, always on when on dock.

      • Thanks for that :-)
