This is on a Limited Time Deal on Amazon and seems like a handy little gadget. It holds the screw at the tip of a normal screwdriver and automatically lets go of the screw as it goes in. It is usually $20-25 according to the camels.

If you need one specifically for insulated screwdrivers, the two pack is also on sale for $18.49

That's one way to tell your kids to get screwed.

Buy the two pack and split it. Two birthdays sorted.

Thx, bought one. What does it do exactly?

This should go some way to explaining what it does, although I’m still not convinced I need it.

      • I've got one, can't remember where I got it. Never used it, never felt like I was missing out on something.

edit: possible it could have been used when screwing something in a very awkward position with a small screw, but I always managed this is with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

    • Hold on to your screw.

Is this for uncoordinated cross eyed double visioned people with one hand?

I've only used this for non ferrous fasteners on the odd occasion. Can be bulky depending of the equipment you're working on

The Real MVP, here! Thank you!

  • These are brilliant. Great for working in tight spaces or when a dropped screw would be hard to retrieve.

  • Any reason a magnet wont do? Apart from stuff sensitive to magnets of course.

      Stainless screws?
      Brass screws?
      Aluminium screws?
      Plastic screws?

      • +2

Ah yes of course, I rarely use other materials and if I have in the past a bit of blu tac usually does the job.

        • +1

          blu-tack is king.

        • +2

For a second I thought you meant blu tac instead of screws 😄
