Ordered the WN2500RP - deal looks good to me based on staticice results and being able to get $20 worth of Indo Mi noodles next time Coles has a half-price sale :D Also shoppingexpress always seems to be pretty well regarded here so I'm counting on no comments revealing I've made a bad choice, thank you very much!

    • Hi herbus,

indo mi… that is correct - was our intention of the $20 gift card lol. They are one of the most popular ozbargain deals around - and our eternal rivals.

  • I am actually in the market for a wireless booster/extender/amplifier.

$65 (or effectively $20 factoring in the gift card) seems reasonable, but rep, can you tell me why I should get this one instead a cheap one off ebay? Note: I'm not too familiar with the different features of boosters/extenders

If it matters I'm currently using a D-Link router.

I wonder if I could just replace an antenna to not the omni-directional ones which come with routers by default, or maybe one of the directed ones off ebay.

    • can you tell me why I should get this one instead a cheap one off ebay? <== you mean the less renown brand? The Brand has a factor on the cost. Gives you confidence and knowing that they will cover the warranty.
Also, the product will usually be more mature compare to other lesser know brand - as they have the advantage of being used by more people and receiving more feedbacks.

      your other question:
Range Extender - you place the extender to your desired location
Antenna - you need to adjust the position of router if it still does not give you desired results

      • Fair enough. I do understand the difference between a range extender and antenna, but I realise that the antenna is much much cheaper. I suppose an extender is probably better.

There's no pick-up option for these? I'm going overseas on Sunday and would like to get it before then. And obviously would like to save on shipping =).

What's the difference between the $65 and $75 ones? Looking at the description I can't really tell.. the $75 looks more like a router. And both seem to be dual band.

Sorry I meant effectively $45 (in my previous comment).

        • WN3000RP plugs directly to the powerline
          WN2500RP does not

          No pick ups unfortunately.

If you are in Sydney Metro, paying by paypal today gives you very high chances of receiving it by friday. You can track the order once it has been dispatched (we will email you the notification and the tracking number)

  • How do I get the $20 voucher, is it awarded on completion of the order by you guys or a NetGear mail in?

    • This is awarded by us. It will be awarded on completion of the order.

      • how long does it take to come through, or does it come in the mail with the items?
        thanks
