Agree, absolutely hate when manufacturers dont consider that. Amazon Alexa also has the same monstrous plug for such a small device.
And they might be unstable as well due to the size and weight, except the 4 ports but its quite bulky as well like laptop charger.
It's more they decided to orientate the prongs in that direction vs say the anker 737. All of green ones are that way, weird choice
Ya, most plugs are side by side in australia. And its almost universal on powerboards that they are side by side.
Looking at google nests also
This desktop one gets around that. Goes on sale for about $65-69
It’s currently on sale for $69.99 by ticking the savings box.
The 65w version is $49.68 with the 15% off code.
I have the 65W, it's a beast, macbook goes 0-80% in an hour or so.
Thanks for pointing that out. Thought it was odd it listed as $99 as they usually all go on sale together.
Have 2x of the 100w ones. Serving me well to date.
The figure-8 cord doesn't seem to wrap nicely around the charger, so not convenient to pack. I'd it if I could find a right angle AC to figure-8 adapter… or would it be too heavy to hang off the powerpoint?
is there a good charger with 4x USB C ports for travel?
this, rarely use usb a these days
I might go with this Zyron 100W https://amzn.asia/d/85sEXz2
as long as you aren't planning to charge a laptop while using the other 3 ports at the same time - (C1 + C2 + C3 + C4 = 30W + 30W + 20W + 20W)
Macbook air charges on 30W
One alternative is with the more common 2xC 2xA - is bring some A-C cables along - not everything is going to utilise fast charging protocols anyway so those devices can use the A ports.
Satechi 165w 4x USB-C is the best l've
found (and used). Definitely also the most expensive, but with sales l've seen it for 120-130.. it also has a basic c7 power cord, so I got this and now just take the appropriate head with me travelling, don’t need an adapter
Yeah I have this one. Well built. Reviews were very positive about it.
Expensive however, but maybe justified with the 165w giving more headroom for higher powered devices compared to 100w devices.
I have two of the Satechi 165w chargers at home and they have been great.
I don’t travel with them only because I already had a zyron 3x usb-c 1x usb-a that is slightly more compact (the old Powerstone GAN II 120w that is discontinued) and a very compact Belkin 2x usb-c 65w that I use for travel, depending if it’s just me overnight or with the family for longer.
Thoughts on the 35W charger? Looking to replace all the old Apple ones
It is more money but Belkin makes a similar sized charger that is 65w and has 2x USB-C.
I hope one of these chargers has a ground connection so I don’t get that annoying tingling feeling in my palms when I use it with my MacBook
I'm likely wrong, but I think all charges aren't ground. I remember reading about it ages ago.
Apple has its own extension cable that does the job, but it needs to be used with an Apple charger.
For the 100w any reason to get the one listed over this 120w. The 2nd only has 3 outlets, but is $11 cheaper.
Ugreen is quality assured. Novoo is a gamble.
How do these UGREEN chargers compare to equivalent ones from Wotobe?
UGreen is a well-known brand in China and has more than 10 years history, whereas Wotobe doesn't have an official website.
The design of the plug on the 100w looks like it will block the access with the adjacent powerpoints
