  • why does it say at nissan, ok fixed

    • Indeed, why Nissan?

  • +2

Mitsubishi merging with Nissan who is partners with Renault.

To me Mitsubishi is highest quality of the three, so Im expecting a drop of quality if Renault are involved

    • Well, Renault just dropped their own engine F1 so if it's any indication…

      • I wonder why Renault still can't get their wiring right after all these years

Thanks. Now i can drive like a maniac, bully all the smaller cars and race those hilux and ford ranger drivers

Even more wine box mums gripping the steering wheel like they’re trying to tear it off while driving 3 millimetres from my bumper. Awesome.

    • +3

I thought it was you that that passed me last week….in the Ram .

      • +3

Did i constantly beep at you trying to overtake you without checking my blind spots, and then give you the finger and tell you to get driving lessons

        • Haaaa….so it was you 😉

    • +7

I'll see you on the road. You won't see me, you'll be blinded after my 4x lightbars that I leave on all the time hit you. It's all for safety though, those suburban roos are lethal m8.

      Gotta love ute drivers🛻🛻

  • The 10 year warranty by Mitsubishi is a scam. You have to service your Mitsubishi vehicle with the Mitsubishi dealership for the 10 years to qualify for the 10 year warranty. You will be paying through the nose for servicing at the Mitsubishi dealership.

    • +8

      they have fixed priced servicing

      https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-advice/mitsubishi-capped-pr…

      $599.00 per year isnt terrible

at least you know what you're getting into budget wise'

if you cant afford $600 a year for a $52k 4x4 then maybe this truck isnt for you?

      Need to know
While car dealers may try to make you believe otherwise, you don't have to take your car back to the dealer for servicing
The ACCC is clear on the point - any qualified mechanic can service your car and fill out the log book as long as they're using quality parts
Going to an independent servicing and repair shop will not affect your car warranty

The reason new car dealers offer fixed price service is not to be kind and generous
it was introduced as a reaction to maintain at least some market share in servicing right after the accc ruling that the monopoly demand to force dealer servicing of new cars was unlawful.

i remember before the ruling it wasnt so much the dealers charged an arm and a leg (which they did)
but that they were always over capacity and waiting lists far exceeded the mandated servicing requirements of the cars.
(ie. 6 month serving warranty schedule requirement? we're too busy next available booking is 8 months)
then i even heard of warranty claims being denied due to missing the service by those 2 months.

      • +1

this should be the case but i reckon when push comes to shove they got more expensive lawyers than you

you can see the bullshit where the korean brands love to nail you to the wall because their failing engines were caused by non dealer servicing, according to them

further i think that in many cases 3rd party mechanics arent significantly under $600 on a yearly diesel service and the worry being that the $100 you save a year on a non dealer will come to roost when you try to claim on a $3,000 high pressure diesel fuel pump…

      • +5

        https://www.carsales.com.au/editorial/details/mitsubishi-aus…

The ACCC has today ruled that it has no objection to Mitsubishi Australia’s move to introduce a new industry-leading 10-year warranty that is conditional on the vehicle being serviced only by the brand’s franchised dealers.

        • +2

          Thanks for this source mate

      • Clearly the wording of the 10 yr warranty offer complies or they would have changed it long ago… I would however like the transparency of the wording, 5 yr warranty with a bonus 5 yrs if you service your vehicle with the oem.

        • +1

my question would be that if you bring this to an independent would you see much saving under $599?

also is this savings worth it IF you do a fuel pump or injector rail assm. or driveline component or transmission or turbo or….

further is this savings worth it in the long run for a $52k vehicle that has a fairly complex drivetrain and turbo diesel motor?

i really dont love mitsubishi at all but when it comes to a 10yr vehicle that essentially costs $5,2k a year then $599 seems reasonably ok to me given you can easily pay $400 for a fwd n/a petrol hatchback then that extra dollars is paying for a lot more parts cover

Enjoy Mitsubishi's ½ baked driver monitoring system in the NG Triton. Now with a software update to make it 1% better than ½ baked.

    • +2

      So 50.5% baked?

      • +3

        Or is it 51%?

        • Depends on the way you look at it.

  • +1

Nice to see that buyers are back in the driving seat again

    • These prices are about 5k more than what I paid in 2022 so don't be fooled that it's a great deal.

        • Yeah it is, thats true. Just prices of shit going up and up.

  • Other tritons have deals on them also.

If anyone's looking at one in Vic, DM me.

    • @Dealsdealzdeals Why is it called the All-New? Hasn't this design been out for a while now or did a new one just get released?

      • +2

It's an "all-new" model based on the same underpinnings as last gen (which itself was based on the gen before that)

      • +1

It's just the latest one, not like it just came out.
        Guessing it's just marketing BS

        • +1

          its "all new"

the triton is basically a Navara with a Mitsu motor in it

but as people say… 'all new' but still live axle leaf springs ladder frame with shit active safety and driver assists

          • @tonyjzx: Yeah the active safety stuff is all just for ancap 5 star, it's going to be across most things going forward unless they change the requirements for that.

        • Thanks for clarifying! I thought an actual "all-new" model had come out already.

Still tempted though for the price!

So I am getting an error that the cert for the domain has been revoked. Is that just me

    • Same error, only on Firefox though. Works on Chrome.

  • Christ, $15k more than my 4 year old Triton for a worse looking ute with more annoying/intrusive safety features. Won't be upgrading any time soon.
