  • $24.87 ($35 RRP - 29%)

    • $58 in Repco so this is a decent saving.

This stuff is dark, dark magic. Also happily goes over the plastic/glass and helps water beading up.

Like you, I'm 8 months in and only just starting to go "Hmmm, it could use another coat".

I'm considering using it on the home windows!

    • +1

Yep, water beading is good, and easy to put on ( did 2 coast originally),and car is still shiny . will wait for summer before putting on another coat , too cold for that now .

      • +1

        That's a good point.

    • I wouldn't put it over glass with the concern of squeaky wipers and window seals.

      • +3

I used on the car, no squeaking so far ,used on the shower screen, works a charm , but not for too long ( guess the soap scum decreases the efficacy over time )

      • +1

There are better products for it, agreed. But no squeaking here. I did have a better result with a few other rain-focussed polymers on the windshield. But for an "all in one" it does just fine.

    • I agree, this stuff is great! One bottle lasts ages. I use it every 6 months or so in between washes using bowdens nanolicious.

      • +1

Literally ditto. The bowdens nano stuff is so damn sliippery, works a charm. I have one bottle thats going on it's second year.

    • Bought this just for that. Hope it works.

  • I'll finally give this a try, thanks OP

  • +1

Big thumb up for the extra 27ml👍🏻

  • -5

    nahhhhh

  • Great stuff. The Flex Wax works better on glass and other materials, but this works better than the Flex Wax on paint.

  • Does this help at all with small swirl marks in the paint?

    • +5

It contains some fillers but they quickly disappear. For swirl marks you need to physically polish the car, this is intended to slightly enhance gloss and offer UV/chemical protection.

      • +1

Cheers for that. My 6 week old MK8 Golf R in the blue now has some very small swirl marks after its first wash and I washed it myself with an ENJO glove which just uses water. Car wasn’t that dirty to start with and the glove was clean so no idea how I got the swirl marks.

        • +2

Probably came like that from the dealer

        • +9

I use an ENJO glove as well but are you saying you used just water and no detergent/car wash? You need a surfactant to encapsulate the dirt and grime otherwise just water and the glove will push the dirt around on your paint and create swirls. Like TrulyUnicorn said, give it a light polish and wax or if you're not bothered, try Bowdens Wash and Wax car wash and it might do the job for you semi-temporarily

          • @tjaye: ENJO website says that you just use water and it won’t damage the paint. Are you sure you need to use car wash detergent?

            • +2

@D1977: Who washes a car without some kind of soap / detergent?!

              • @dangerdanger: I use the product based on how they advertise it. It's supposed to be chemical free and all you need is a bucket of water and to soak the glove in the water making sure it's very wet - which I did. I also hosed the car down beforehand to ensure any dust etc. was off it.

See product details here - https://www.enjo.com.au/car-glove.html

                • +2

@D1977: Thanks, I did not know this existed… It's a terrible idea. Just moves the dirt around, and scratches the paint work.

Imagine using that on your kitchen plates with just water. Or even in the shower with no soap. Makes no sense.

Granted some commercial dishwashers don't use detergent - but they use super hot water blasts.

        • You need a car wash to act as a lubricant.

        • +2

VW's in particular like to come a bit swirled from factory. MightyCarMods bought one and took it direct to a detailer, and the before/after was significant.

          • +1

@Ademos: Dealership probably washes the car as it comes off the cargo ship (attracting sea water / spray / dust on the way from overseas) to their car yard.

            • @dangerdanger: The school kid working at the Mitsubishi dealership o bought my outlander from discovered that using a wide driveway broom makes washing the cars much faster

    • +2

Polish to get rid of swirl marks. Polishing is like very, very fine sanding. It removes a layer of the top clear coat resulting in the swirl marks being removed (the swirl marks are in the clear coat). Clean first, then polish, then clean again, then use this product to coat.

  • Yep this stuff makes it shine, definitely worth the price and easy application. Beading is good. Used it on the windows except the windscreen but haven't been long so will see how that goes

  • +1

My car seems a lot dustier since applying this.

    • +1

Maybe the dust stands out a lot more now that the car is shinier?

    • +1

Yeah this is known to happen, I've experienced it too using this product.

      • +3

Thanks. Good to know I’m not imagining things.

    • Do you say this in good faith or something as bad comment?

      • +2

Good faith. I have no issues with the product but personally my car is definitely holding fine dust more than before.

        • Extra dust is not a rare observation. The coating is unlikely to be "holding" dust as SiO2 sealants work by bonding to AND filling microscopic valleys in the paint. Dust is probably more evident due to shine and the fact that it isn't nestling into those valleys. There are also numerous environmental reasons why extra dust will land on your vehicle from time to time.

  • Maybe I didn’t use it correctly but I don’t like this, used once and leave mark on the body and the glasses.

    • +1

it does tend to lock in the existing dirt and marks as it forms a layer over the top, plus you have to apply and buff out properly

  • +5

I used to use it on my face, mad stinging in my eyes but i was waterproof which was cool

    • +1

Aussies secret sauce for all the olympics medals in paris

      • That might just work!

    • As part of the anit ageing?

  • +1

Use 303 graphene and its still going good for 8 months now

  • +1

Good sealant but a lot of effort to apply. I like to use Happy Ending from Bowden's. Foam on and spray off. Happy Ending last approx 2-3 months but it's so easy to apply I don't mind.

    • Thanks, need something quick and easy. Will get Happy Ending from now on.

      • Also look at Gyeon WetCoat. Even easier. No foaming needed. Just spray on wet surface and rinse off.

    • +1

Have to pay extra for that

  • +1

Anyone know how this compares to hybrid ceramic wet wax?
    https://amzn.asia/d/8G67Fle

    • +1

The OP's last longer than your link's. Your links is easier to apply.

Yours is somewhat intended to over the top of OP's as a maintenance coat that's easier to top up.

The OP's has been tested time and time again to be a top tier product, but beats all the rest for speed and ease of application by a country country mile.

  • -2

Mothers CMX is heaps better and heaps easier to apply too

    • +1

Not better according to quite a few youtube tests.

Extreme tests like Project Farm's don't really reflect normal environmental conditions but they do give some indication of durability and resistance to degradation. There are plenty of youtube comparisons of popular sealants for anyone interested.

Both will do a good job if properly applied.

    • CMX is also in my experience worse, their Trim product isn't too bad. But I've used this and CMX back to back and it's wayyyy easier to apply the Turtle.

  • Thanks OP got one

  • Use this last week from the last Amazon sale and it was good. Kept car shinier longer.

  • +1

    The project farm favourite

  • -1

Hmm this or the CMX.. 🤔

    • I have the CMX on order from Amazon for $29.70, debating that or this one

  • Got one, thanks.

  • -1

Excellent product. Used this on my mostly garaged car and it lasted close to a year with beading. Applied 2 coats 24 hours apart - other than that super easy application.

  • Does it help stop poo sticking to the toilet? Asking for a friend.

    • +1

Think it should , better still if sprayed on the bunghole, will make sure your friend is not constipated for the next 12 months .

  • any quick detailed that would pair well with this?

    • i use the turtle wax Ceramic Wet Wax. i wash the car, rinse, spray this on each panel and wipe dry with microfibre cloth. so much easier and do it all in one step.

      • sorry - I meant to say quick detailer*

  • I have $40.04 with Prime, not $24.87
