  • Targetted? Not in my uber one acc

  • Hmm how toget it…

    • Create new account, subscribe to U1 (there are some free available atm) and hope for the best

      • I mean how we know we got targeted?

        • I think the grocery promo is only for customers who haven’t used them before. I’ve got few accounts which had this kind of offer in the past but I don’t get them anymore now.

          • @foxes28: I've had these offers before and used them, got this one too

            • @ozilicious: Good for you and you are right! Many factors to consider of course like how many times have you redeemed it, how often you use their services in general etc. In one of my accounts, I got it 9 times (3x of the offer just like this one) before it ran dry.

What I’m trying to say is if you haven’t been targeted for a while, you are probably no longer on their potential customer list for this category and new account would put you in a better position to get this kind of promotion. It’s all marketing strategy anyway.

              • @foxes28: I just checked, I haven't been grocery targeted since February and since only bought from Uber once a month when 50% off or better is offered.

I also let my UberOne sub expire for June and resubbed in July, maybe that's why I'm targeted again?

Sorry I reread your comment and just realised what you were asking. You should get a pop up banner on the app and if you go to the Accounts > Promotions, it should be there too.

          • @foxes28: bad luck i have this only

I got this deal, it's not worth buying from Coles, they always change stuff from your order

Bought premium basmati rice, they sent Coles Basmati Rice 😂

    • You can set your replacement preferences whilst placing your order or just by default receive a a refund if the ordered item is out of stock.

    • +1

There is an option on each item not to auto swap items if not available. By default it’s set to auto swap, I always change that to refund if not available.

      • Then what's the use of this deal?

Coles is always missing items on my order, I totally don't recommend them for online shopping.

        • +1

Good point but just FYI, I placed an order with 6 items on it, cost me $30 net (after $20 off).
Two high value items were out of stock (I had opted for full refund and not a swap).
Thanks to which the remaining 4 items only ended up costing me $6.30 in total, which worked out great for me.
So some items being out of stock, isn’t all that bad but not if you are ordering some essentials ofcos.

@Gervais fanboy: That's great. The good thing is you have three wishes 😂

This is the 2nd time I got this offer.

Yesterday when I went to pickup my dozen donuts from krispy Kreme, the guy showed me I paid 41.50$ and started sympathising with me. I told him I paid 28$ lol

@sqheaven: Exactly, see now you are catching my drift.
Icing on the cake - the losses are shared between Coles and Uber Eats.
              Two companies I absolutely hate.

  • Feels like this is on every month /alternate month as I always add it but never use it lol. It is pretty good for spudshed, I stock up on Indomies

  • been getting refillable sodastream gas with these deals or a ton of high quality free range eggs lmfaoo

    • Kinda useful for the eggs lol

  • +3

Got this last month and again this month. Stocked up on the 48 pack of Quilton from Woolies ($24.70). Make sure your order is $40 (or just over). Add some eggs to your order and it is bound to be out of stock (was for me the last 3x orders) so get refunded that ($8-10) so it only ends up about $14 after $20 off they refund the eggs in full. Is a bargain.

Another tip - only buy your staples like bread, milk, butter, pasta, etc - ie things that aren't usually ever on special as the weekly special prices don't apply to Uber Eats.

  • 1kg of coffee beans can be a good deal

    • -2

Better dont drink coffee its not healthy. And thats a good deal.

      • +2

I would love to hear about your research? How is coffee not healthy?

  • I got that too a few weeks back. I checked the price of the same item in Coles Store (Online) and in the Coles online Store (Uber). Price is higher in Uber Coles online. Be very careful using the grocerry from Uber. It seems they increase the price for items in Coles Uber.

    • +2

lol you are saying that as if it’s not common knowledge at this point. Everyone knows this, that is why the $20 off is what makes this kinda worth it.

      • How is it worth it, btw?
You might end up with $5or so savings. It feels like misleading and cheating. Today you are getting $5ish savings.. tomorrow there would be none.
I rather not use Uber for any grocerry delivery and just compare the price between Aldi vs Coles vs Wollies and buy the cheapest.. Or wait for half price .. or use others like costco or amazon

        • +1

          with $5or so savings

          Or more
Depends on what you are buying

Buying Coles branded goods like their tissues boxes, eggs, frozen fruits etc for example, you’d end up saving way more. On top of it you are getting it all delivered to your doorstep.
Most people do this little maths before they order anything, just like I do. It’s does workout to be a good deal for me, I am grateful for it.
