3 Months Free nbn for The First 500 Customers Who Currently Have an Existing Mobile Plan (Invite Required) @ amaysim

241

Received a targeted email from Amaysim and they're re-launching NBN plans using Optus. Check your emails to see if you too are eligible.

No lock-in contacts. Cancel anytime.

For now, sign-up is by invitation only until 14 August for the first 500 customers who currently have an existing mobile plan with the telco.

Hopefully they'll be some good deals long term, but for now they have offered the first 3 months free, so figured we'd give them a try!

They also offer $10 off for the next 6 months after the 3 month free trial ends.

Existing amaysim mobile customers will continue to receive the introductory discounted price even after the first 6 months are up. You just need to maintain an amaysim SIM only plan for it.

Speed Tier Typical Evening Speed (7pm to 11pm) Intro nbn Price Ongoing nbn Price after 6 Months Ongoing nbn Price after 6 Months (nbn & mobile SIM)
25/10 - Quick As 25/8 $60/Month for 6 months $70/Month $60/Month
50/20 - Speedy As 50/18 $75/Month for 6 months $85/Month $75/Month
100/20 - Fast As 100/18 $80/Month for 6 months $90/Month $80/Month
250/25 - Superfast As 240/22 $90/Month for 6 months $100/Month $90/Month

250Mbps will be a nice increase from the 109Mbps we currently get with Tangerine.

Hope this helps someone :)

  • Oh dear, how to get it targeted ? Not Amaysim customer yet

    • DeLorean!

      • Like that’s going to work !

        • NBN? Where we're going we don't need NBN!

Signed up for the mailing list when I got the first email about them launching NBN in mid-July, no promo email for me :(

    • Same here :(

    • Hey btw, how does one subscribe to their mailing list?

  • +2

Lets you also chose a start date, so perfect deal. Got lucky in getting the email and could push the start date back to end of August.

    • Yup, did the same for 10 days time :)

  • +2

Meh prices, let’s see what Boost has to offer for their nbn plans too

    • Boost has to offer for their nbn plans too

Boost support is done by Telstra, be warned !!!

  • +1

Received the email and signed up straight away! 3 months free too good to pass.

Then you have the 6 month $10 rebates

And then you can also get $10 of if you bundle you mobile plan.

Always been happy with Amaysim mobile, so pretty sure they'll rock the NBN too.

And then you can also get $10 of if you bundle you mobile plan.

      Only for some plans…

Signed up last night and I'm happy to report after roughly half a day so far so good. The service was activated in under 30 mins which i was genuinely amazed by.

First few speed tests have also shown speeds consistently hovering around 210-240Mbps-ish. I guess we'll see how good support is and long term reliability over the 3 months.

I've been with them for my number for over a year now as well, and they've been brilliant, so this is all looking good to me!

    • Honeymoon period …..

    • Hi Shak2093, was there an option to select a date and time to switch over?

      • Yep, they had the option to switch ASAP or to select a date that's more convenient for you. I received the offer two days before my free month of Telstra 5G Home Internet expired and i activated the service with Amaysim the next day.

I’m with Leaptel. $99 for first 12 months for 1000/100
The 3 months free is nice, but ongoing pricing isn’t crash hot.
Anyone seen anything about CGNAT? Is it whitelabel Optus NBN?

    • +1

Yeah, think i'll stay with Leaptel.

    • 1000/100?

  • nothing, pays not to be loyal

    • Doesn’t pay to be stupid either

  • So want this, may be purchased A35 too quickly so not targeted for this.

  • So their fastest speed is 250/25 @ $100/month. That is worse than most that will likely offer a superior service.

    • I am paying that much on superloop for 1000/50.

  • Any word on those free speed upgrades from 250 to 750?

    • I think that's 2025 at the earliest

  • +3

Have asked about CGNAT yesterday, promised get back to me yesterday, still haven’t hear anything. If this will be the service to be expected, then pass.

  • +1

For now, sign-up is by invitation only

    Haiyaa!

  • 25/10 - Quick As

This has very 720p "High Definition" vibes.

  • -2

this is not a deal. Amaysim come on look at your competitors..

  • Never got an invite either even though I signed up to the "notification", dang it :)

  • I assume this is wired only ? I am on NBN wireless now and get "amaysim nbn is unavailable at your address"

  • $80/Month for 100/20 with the discount is poor form.
I'm on $75/month with Leaptel, so iffs and butts.
    Not a good deal, imo.

    • +1

No iffs and butts for three months free for existing mobile customers. Nobody can beat that.

  • +6

Surprised this deal is getting so much hate tbh - 3 months free 242Mbps WIFI, when I normally pay $85 a month for Tangerine 100Mbps WIFI is a pretty good deal, that's a $255 saving, and over twice the speed!

Reckon people are salty for not being eligible haiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :d

    • +2

      Haiyaa!

    • +2

Yeh I was thinking the same. All the comments hating on the deal referencing the regular pricing which is fair, but the deal is the 3 months free…

    • They aren't selling wifi 🙂

  • Just got the email.

  • Got email as well. signed up for 250/25 - Superfast As, why not try the top tier. Also future date as 22/08, as already paid till then with current ISP.

    • +2

Exactly - who wouldn't want 3 months of free superfast internet! FOUIYOHHH

  • +1

got an email today. Free internet for 3 months. Can't complain.

  • +1

Just got email today too. so does it mean any speed we can get 3 months free? Also to churn it in future do Amaysim require notice before moving to another provider

    • +1

With amaysim, there is no minimum term contract, so you can cancel whenever you want. There is no fee for cancellation however you will not receive a refund of charges paid in advance for the remainder of your payment cycle.

  • +1

To all the people who got the invite, what kind of sim plan do you have with them?

    • +2

I have a Data only plan with them and received this email yesterday.

    • I've had my grandparents sim with them on a Long expiry option for years and a number i just use for SMS codes and data.

  • +3

Just posting here. Got the email yesterday, signed up today at 1:18pm and by 1:40pm I'm connected! Super fast, didn't have to do anything on my router/modem too! I was with Leaptel and after my Amaysim internet is up, I went back into Leaptel portal and can see my existing service is gone (assumed cancelled, but I did send them an email just in case).

  • I received the offer and I'm tempted, but like others, have concerns about CGNAT. Could someone who has already made the switch please check, and let us all know? (eg; Compare your WAN IP address to your Public IP address.) And if Amaysim is using CGNAT, is there an option somewhere to opt out?

    • I'm getting a public IPv4 address, same as reported IPv4 if visiting a website.
Upload speed experiencing some issues though, when WFH.

      • Thanks for the info. As an aside, I've decided to stay with my current ISP (TPG) for now. I called them with a view to cancelling, and they offered me a $15 per month discount for the next 12 months.

  • Hi everyone,

I have scheduled my hcf nbn to be disconnected on 29th can i order new nbn for the same day?

    Thanks

    • I would just setup the new nbn to start right before the old one ends, should automatically end the old one

      • Called them and they advised to start from the 30th

  • I sent them a support enquiry asking about CGNAT. This was there response:

    "Thank you for the interest.

To get your NBN sorted ASAP, you can contact our NBN team directly:

    • NBN Hotline: 361 445 831 (charges may apply)

    • Live Chat:
Live Chat Contact Us | amaysim (https://www.amaysim.com.au/help/contact/live-chat-call-us)They’re open from 8am-5pm on weekdays, 8am-5pm on weekends, and 10am-6pm on public holidays.

Should you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to contact us back or reply to this email.

Have a great day and take care."

So amaysim Service Team doesn't know either. But guess have a direct amaysim NBN number now. It's great that I waited 2 days to get told to use live chat when they could have just took an extra day and got the answer.

  • Switched over today - relatively painless experience, although I had to reset my Nest WiFi because it wouldn't let me change from PPPoE to DHCP.

    Pretty happy so far

    • My current plan is PPPoE as well (with username/passwod), so Amaysim has Automatic IP?

  • Will Amaysim work with a Telstra gen2 modem?

    • Works with my Gen 3 modem. I do not see why Gen 2 wouldn't work. My cousin is using Telstra Smart Modem (Gen 1?) DJA0230 and he keeps switching NBN providers frequently.

  • Damn, I have so many Amay sims, but no email

    • I had no emails either. Used the link op provided

  • Having too many drop outs for the last two days
