Good deal if you are able to click & collect from Bayswater or Nunawading as they don't offer delivery on this item.

  • Good price, Weber smokers aren't common to see on sale. The 57cm one is huge though, and I have heard complaints it chews fuel much faster than the 47cm (which I own and find performs extremely well with a smartfire controller)

Wow. Never thought they were that expensive.
Should have bought a fornetto razo from bbqxl when they were on clearance 2 yrs ago.

  • Get yourself a Kamado Joe. Much more versatile. You can do anything the Weber Smokey and much more with less fuel consumption. I know quite a few people that regret buying the Weber and finally settled for KJ.

    • how is that, which model do you recommend that competes with this in size and price and quality

      • definitely KJ is more expensive. But if you are going to spend that much, save a little bit more. wait for a KJ sale. I have a classic KJ.
Dont get me wrong Im not saying WSM sux. But i found KJ was easier to use, startup is quick, more stable in temp and temp recovery, found it better taste in the end as it retained more flavor from the rub (subjective) when smoking, solidly made lifetime wty on ceramic. Should be lots of youtube vid out there comparing the two.

        • what about topping it up while its on, is there a door to add more wood charcoal?

          • @Roe Jogan: longest ive done 14hrs @120C without topping up charcoal. i havent done anything longer than that. with WSM you need to keep on refiling the water pan 3.5hrs in else temp will elevate (learnt the hard way), and when you do that temp drops quite a bit and takes longer to recover. KJ heat recovery is quick.

            • @id: besides smoking what else can you do on the komado, also i think the classic was on special few times for a 1000 dollars now its 1400

              • @Roe Jogan: ive grilled, baked, cooked pizza, seared steaks cooked fish, smoked fish/meats, roasts.

        • Which joe you have? Been holding out for one but sales are rare and minimal.

Only 2 of us but would like to do briskets/big cooks for 8+ people.

          Looking at BJ1 or C2.

    • Thanks for your suggestion! Those look good, but they do cost 2-4 times as much it seems, depending on the model, which is quite a bit. Might be worth it if used frequently, however if used sporadically, it's probably not quite worth it

      • Kamado Joe Classic I is currently $1399 @ bunnings. And if you check FB marketplace theres one in melb for $800 band new.
