Could I use this for gaming?

  • How do they charge? Is it usb?

      micro usb

        Brother Ew

Eh, my PXC550's are micro usb as well as my Garrett headphones (for metal detecting). It's annoying, for sure.

I just bought a couple magnetic usb cables, as it saves spending hours looking for the only damned micro usb cable within 100km, every time you charge them.

      • Eek it's been like 5 years since that was out of date

      • Nope. Has a 3.5mm to USB 1 cable.

I have an older set and they charge via a micro USB, I'd expect these to be the same

I bought these a week ago. It charges with a 3.5mm headphone jack type connector into the ear muffs with a standard USB plug on the other end.

      • Oh really? Lucky I decided I didnt need it. When ppl said micro usb I assumed a connector on the headphone body.

        • It probably was micro USB on the older versions. This way is more robust than micro USB for charging but it's a pretty rare method.

          • @macfudd: Not robust to me losing the cord in about 2 weeks.

            • @Stinger au: Yeah, agreed. I ziptied the thing to a piece of shelving next to where I charge all my tools and stuff and I still reckon it's only 50/50 that I won't have lost it by Christmas.

  • Do these have any form of noise cancelling - was thinking of wearing these while mowing the lawn

    • +1

No, shooting earpro actually sucks for working with tools.
I would suggest wearing BT earbuds under normal earpro.

That was nearly 3 years ago!

    • Inflation sucks badly.

  • How is this one vs the 3m

      • +1

I use the 3M for mowing the lawn and loud renovating. They're nothing for quality on real headphones, but the decibel cancellation is leagues ahead of traditional over-ears and earbuds. The batteries last forever because it's not exactly audiophile quality.

        • +1

Agree - I have the 3M ones and they are great for reducing noise and better than my Bose NC earbuds (and a lot more comfortable than earbuds under earmuffs. I usually listen to podcasts so the audio quality is neither here nor there. Batteries last forever, certainly longer than I can do activities that involve loud noises.

Newcastle Hats make 'earmuff hats' for those also worried about the sun / mowing the lawn etc - https://insideoutsafety.com.au/product-category/headwear/hat…

I have these and the 3M. The 3Ms are more comfortable (ear pads) but these Prohear ones are USB-C and the battery last for days. The prohears are fine for podcasts and ok for music.

Don't OzBargainers here just wear their Apple, Sony or Bose ANC headphones instead? /s

Cheers OP, grabbed a pair to use while on the lawn mower.

    • I would cancel if I were you, these types of earpro usually suck for that purpose.

      • Isn't that what they're made for?

  • Op, Have you seen my baseball??

  • I can't find the SLC80 value.

  • I picked these up for $40 nearly 3 years ago. Still working fine.

Edit: uh oh I posted a dupe

  • Is there any ear muffs with DAB radio, not just FM radio?

  • Seems to be an expired price now.
A good price. I've used the Tactix ones since they came out and wouldn't mind trying these. Use them almost daily, slightly less in the summer when they make my ears sweat balls.

  • If it helps for anyone.
I got these ZOHAN 037 ear muffs a month ago for $60 on Amazon and they have been fantastic.
USB charging. Bluetooth is good enough for music. Sound protection is great for a very noisy electric planer.
