  • I use this in the tesla for dashcam and sentry mode it works right up until you get to 512gb then it starts corrupting files, then you have to delete it back down again….. but it works for the most part.

    • Have you tried another storage device for your tesla?

yeah the cars always in a garage I live in Queensland so we don't believe in apartments or any side street parking crap

          • @kungfuman: What are all those tall buildings scattered across the Gold Coast then?

            • @xyron: even those have under ground car parks. so no side street crap. Thats for the tourists also most of those buildings are hotels.

The Ars Technica article supports your story:

Both times they filled about 50 percent and then showed a bunch of read and write errors.

  • 2TB extreme is $142 delivered too.

I thought this was a good deal too. However, having some doubts now because of some reviews/articles about it corrupting files or just not working properly.

People how have this, please share your thoughts.

P.S. I was hoping to use this on my iPad Air.

I think those are mostly referring to the "extreme" and "extreme PRO" versions, but thanks for the heads up!

I have one from 2022 that I still use. Mostly for transferring files from my phone (Android), PC (Windows) and tablet (Android) and watching movies on my tablet. Haven't had any issues yet. But there's a lot of posts about the issue on reddit. I'd be hesitant to buy another one unless I had everything backed up elsewhere.

    • How do you use it with ipad air? just connect it directly?

  • I have heard of people only using 512gb for the dashcam partition. Maybe there is a issue with going over that?

  • Shows as $110 for me. Am I missing something?
