But really, is this the best whey to eat?

  • +6

The 2kg whey for $53.99 is the deal - about 75% protein but I think it's acceptable. Vanilla, choclate, choc mint all decent flavours

    • +2

      Its a pretty good deal.

If you have a Costco membership, this 2kg bag is $55.99 in store, $65.99 delivered.

      https://www.costco.com.au/Health-Beauty/Nutrition-Weight-Man…

      80.6g protein per 100g and 3.2g carbs per 100g

Bought 2 bags, its reasonable enough

      • That's a good everyday price for anyone who uses Costco

    • Yeah. This is the price I usually bite at.

  • This whey makes me break out. i can only use NZ whey safely.

    • +1

Cool hopefully I can break out in huge gains too.

Terrible wpi… not much less on sale than VPA at regular price and VPA is FAR superior.

    • +1

care to elaborate ? VPA seems almost double everywhere.

      • +2

Nothing wrong with INC 100% WPI, get the 2kg for a much better price.

You won't find better quality cheaper.

      • -3

INC $126 for 3kg on special… VPA $150 for 3kg full price, $135 with easy to find 10% off codes.

Flavour and mixability leave INC for dead.

Source: 15 years as a competing power lifter. Probably tried 30+ different brands and VPA is what i stick to. No benefit to me if you buy it or not. If you don't want to, dont..

        • What is VPA please? My last few orders have been from bulk nutrients and need to make my next order soon.

          • +1

            @BaryGusey: Vpa.com.au

            • @Herb Utsmellz: Thank you! I was expecting a bit more of an acronym. Should have just googled.

              • @BaryGusey: You can find 10% off codes pretty readily.

If you have trouble i can share my referral code but full disclosure it gives me 10% off too.

                • @Herb Utsmellz: I've actually ordered from them before, maybe not for 10 years though. I knew it as venom.

        • +1

          Your math is wrong.

          INC WPI 2kg = $68.99
          WPA WPI 2kg =$103 ($92.70 with discount) + $8 shipping.

This is Ozbargain, not Oz best protein.
If you want better but still cheaper give Bulk Nutrients WPI a go.

          • @Jessie Ryder: Mustve missed the 2kg posted in this deal… oh wait, it wasnt…

            • @Herb Utsmellz: You are right, OP should have posted all 66 links to INC products on special.

I mean, how else would we know right…… 😅

  • Is this brand good? I use Musashi currently.. is it better or same?

Anyone who is using this brand currently should
    Weigh in 😅

    • +1

I have been using the WPI for quite some time - I usually buy several 2kg tubs when it's on special and that's enough for a few months. I really like the chocolate and vanilla flavours.

The WPI has high protein per serve and low carbs per serve compared to many other options out there, and it's a much nicer texture than the ones that seem to be made of mushy peas.

    • I've gone through a dozen brands just by hopping between bargains posted here. I'm no expert on whey but I didn't have any complaints with this stuff compared to the rest.
I'd probably put it on the upper half of what I've tried in terms of taste and texture with Musashi on the lower half. Couldn't tell you how the nutrients profile compares, label looked pretty comparable to everything else I remember.

  • INC creatine was pretty cheap too when I was there today (1/2 price I think).

  • Looking at the hardgainer (started gyming 6 months ago, 182cm/78kgs) and want to put on muscle. Havent incorporated protein shakes into my workout yet, is INC hardgainer any good? Anyone flavour recommendations (think its either chocolate or vanilla)

    • My suggestion .. get your protein requirements (1gm per lb of body weight- 170gm/day for you) through good nutrition first, i.e. Chicken, red meat, lentils etc, and only use these supplements to fill in gaps or days where you just fell short. Failing that use a whey isolate as your 'normal' go to or even look at the others with a high carb component for the extra calories if your on a 'bulk'. Good luck.

INC dynamic has been my go to for ages since whey prices went up, never had any issues digesting and when its on sale (which is often) I immediately got get a couple 2kg tubs. If its ~$30per k.g its a bargain.

    • +1

The 2kg tubs are $27 per kg as I mentioned above.

      • Yeah was more a general comment, i actualyl went and picked up 2 of 2kg tubs on the weekend when the deal came out

As the Mandalorian says "this is the whey"

  • Major issue with these cheap Proteins is the Artificial sweeteners - Sucralose. Change your gut microbiome, increase inflammation etc… and additives - Xanthan Gum, Silicon Dioxide.

  • Price per serving - Isolate = $1.11 Whey = $0.98
Isolate 0.5 grams less protein which is almost nothing.
30 less calories in the isolate, so looks like whatever youre looking for caloric wise is the go

    Anyone love certain flavours?
