    Will this stacked with onepass?

    • no

  • How often do they do 30x ?

    • +1

They havent done it since the first introduction of giftcards that can also purchase hardware. Shame really :(

      • +1

They did a 15% off sometime last year

        • +2

Yes that is the better deal, but even those come very rarely. Last year was the first time ever i think.

  • Can these gc be used at apple stores (to purchase apple products?) Or app store only?

    • Can be used for both :)

  • is there any particular way to maximise velocity points?

    • +1

Pay with a Velocity Point earning credit card might be a start.

  • I'd like to buy a refurbished Mac, so it has to be online, and looks like I can only have a maximum of 8 cards @$200 each if I could find that denomination. I couldn't find where I could use my Apple Credit on my account with the online store. I also wanted to have this against my wife's account, while I am the Family Sharing Organiser.

    Is this correct?

    • +1

Pretty sure many others have shared it is possible to use credit in your Apple account to purchase hardware and apps, just add to cart and pay, it will show how much drawn from credit and how much from card if existing credit isn’t enough to cover the purchase. You could load all value of gift cards to your account before making purchase, there isn’t any limit how many gift cards you can load into your account.

Don’t know what you mean by having it against your wife’s account, you want to use her account to pay? If so, ask her to do it, I assume not that difficult.

One drawback of gift card is if you decided to return the product, you will receive credit back into your account, no way to cash out.

      • On the Apple Online Store, I can see how to pay using a credit card and Gift Cards, but not the account balance.

The part about the wife is with everything else under Family, I'm the one paying for purchases like AppleCare+ under her account with my credit card. I think say app purchases she could use her own Apple Credit. As I wanted the tax invoice for the Mac in her name, I wanted to work out if Apple Credit could be used, I needed to redeem the gift cards against her account.

Just wonder if you have any balance on your account? If yes, it should show at checkout (payment page) and allow you to apply that balance to payment, can also choose not to apply. I’m sure if she load gift cards to her account, she can apply the balance on her purchases.

        • +2

You have to have a balance in your apple account and be logged in for this to be offered. I recently purchased an Apple Studio. I loaded all the gif cards into my apple account first, visited apple Australia, logged in and paid the full amount via this method.

          • @GNRICHO: Can confirm! Looks like I have another place to stock up now…

    • You can pay at the Apple Store online with up to 8 Apple Gift Cards ($4000) in combination with your Apple Account Balance which I think maxes out at $4999. That’s $8999. If that’s not enough you can pay the rest with Apple Pay.

I am visiting Europe in October, if get the gift vouchers and buy the iPhone using Apple credit in my account effective 10% discount.

And my question is will I be eligible for VAT return either via Apple direct as mentioned here on forums or at the airport when returning back home, that will good saving if possible- what is OZB opinion here.

    • We call it GST in Australia, can make claim at TRS counter at airport upon departure on purchases you intend to take away, I don’t think anyone here mentioned claiming GST rebate from Apple.

I remember there is a minimum purchase and time limit, check custom website to be sure. If TRS counter closed when you are departing, then too bad.

      • 60 days. I haven't travelled in years - you used to be able to do everything online then present the items in person.

      • +1

The TRS counter never closes unless there are no flights departing (eg airport is closed)

        • Yes, this is correct. The danger is not in it being closed. The danger is the line being so long that you risk missing your flight even when you arrive an hour early just to claim back GST.

    • yes, we do it every year. just make sure your flight is within 60 days of purchase. we usually do 30 days prior. Download tourist refund scheme app on your mobile and fill all the required sections when you get the phone. Officers scan your QR code and may also check if you have phone with you so carry it in hand carry. claims usually paid within 2 days

  • Anyone tried Apple chat to price match JB 15 pro price ?

    • +1

Apple will only price match upto 10%

  • Hi guys, has anyone claimed a laptop on their tax return that was paid for using these giftcards?

    • +1

You still claim the laptop (as a depreciable item) on your tax return if you paid for the gift cards.

If you received the gift cards as a gift (say from your employer) then you can’t claim the laptop as you didn’t really “incur” the expense as it’s akin to someone else paying for the laptop.

      • Thank you!

  • Can these be purchased using Shopback Supermarket Card for an additional 2% off? I believe these are effectively a card payment rather than gift card.

  • Anyone know if the variable load cards are eligible this time around?

They are pictured in the catalogue but not mentioned in the fine print.

    • Yes they are, had a brave mate who tried and was rewarded for his bravery.

  • Can you use this at jb hifi or officeworks to buy apple products in those stores?

  • +1

Bought it and got credited the basic points only, no 20x. Does it appear later?

    • +1

Same here. Talked to flybuys via web chat and was told it could take 4 weeks for the bonus points to be credited.

      • +1

        Same here
Usually it’s instant, but something like this happened to my colleague last time

      • Checked this morning and its in for me

  • +1

Got it in just under 2 days. 👍

  • I have eight gift cards worth $200 each, and I plan to load them into my Apple account to buy a phone. Will the name on the bill be the name on my Apple account, or can I use a different name? This is a gift, and I want the recipient to be able to claim GST when they travel.

  • Anyone had issues with redeeming gift cards? Mine is coming up as "Cannot redeem code" " The code entered is not valid". Went back to coles and they said their system won't allow refunds as the receipt is showing approved (activated) and told me to contact apple.

    • Are the Serial numbers same as printed on the card and outside? Usually thats where the problem arises.

      • The serial numbers match. I'll probably just wait till tomorrow and if it still doesn't work, contact Apple.

        • I'm sure you would have tried it but still try to enter the code manually and by scanning the GC.
