The following are the different regions and their corresponding region codes:
Standard DVDs:
Region 1: U.S., U.S. Territories, Canada, and Bermuda
Region 2: Japan, Europe (excluding Russia, Belarus and Ukraine), Greenland, Swaziland, Lesotho, South Africa, Egypt, and the Middle East
Region 3: Southeast Asia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau
Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean
Wife and I tried to watch Sister Act on DVD last year, and even she, as a ‘quality doesn’t matter’ movie watcher, said “why does it look SO bad?”
It was pretty well unwatchable on a modern TV, so we went and found the Blu-Ray.
