Macquarie Platinum Card Scrapping Qantas FF Association

Hey Fellow OzBers! I got an email from Macquarie bank that they'll no longer offer Qantas points on their Macquarie Platinum Credit Card.

I've been using this for years as I had my mortgage with them and this came as a part of the package. It has been good as it provided 1 QFF point for $1 spend (with a cap) and also foreign transactions free of commission. So I've used this card extensively while traveling as it gives me Visa's exchange rate which is pretty good.

However, from late October, they'll be offering Macquarie points rather than QFF and this is worrying me! I know, I'll need to cancel this card and apply something else but feeling lost as I've been using this for so long and haven't been a churner (tight serviceability).

Any suggestions are welcome :)

Be careful what you wish for. You really don't want to hear JV's thoughts

      • I think you should consider shopping around for a new bank/lender/credit card.

        • Thanks! Yes started doing some research but so far nothing matching quite like this. Also most good off earners have 15k minimum and high yearly fees

    • jv what do you think happens when we die

      • We become frogs.

        • Frency frogs?

  • Plenty of qff cards out there. Check out pointhack website

    • There's very few with QFF earn and no international transaction fees. Commbank has one but thats the only other one I'm aware of…

    • From what I've researched so far, most good qff earning cards ($1/1qff point at least) are all minimum 15k limit and high annual fees.
I don't need 15k limit and might struggle for approval due to tight serviceability
