Living rent free …
There were lots of reviews on last time, says it kinds of a scam.
There is nothing for free from lawyers 🙂
Just their bill.
Do you mean the reviews on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/832048?
Most of the concern there seems to be for Public Trustees not Safewill.
There is a comment towards the bottom about it requiring payment details, which are for in the event that you continue to use the service for more updates after 1 year.
(which is $15/year)
Safewill may or may not try the same scam that State Trustees do, which is that they 'strongly encourage' you to add them as your executor. In the case of the State Trustees, they will do you a free will if you make them the executor or charge you a few hundred if you don't.
If you pass, then they charge you around 5% of the entire value of your estate to perform the executor role (Which they're also not very good at).
Yes, exactly this: the wording when you get to the part where you choose your executor very heavily encourages you to nominate them for the role at a mere 1-3% of the value of your estate. Also there are attempts to upsell life insurance, prepaid funeral costs, as well as leaving a donation to the charity named in the OP.
However, it is also straightforward enough to opt out of all of those things, and there is a box to untick on the final page if you don't want to pay the $15/year in future to be able to make updates after the first year.
My god lawyers are the worst. Give them enough money and they will do anything. They are the whores of our legal system.
Give them enough money and they will do anything.
Yeah, like making "dodgy" judgements for the benefit of their friends- https://www.miragenews.com/judge-faces-complaint-for-hiding-…
Man if I were in charge these slugs would be in stocks in front of courthouses. People would throw cabbages at them. Corruption really pisses me off, can't wait for a 1984 style AI to observe us all 24/7 and make sure everyone does everything right.
@AustriaBargain: Plenty more examples of our " most honourable" betters here-
https://kangaroocourtofaustralia.com/
The guy that runs the site got sent to prison for his efforts to expose the corruption in our legal system and had to move to Qld to stay free.
He's hounded like Julian Assange was as "they" would like him to shut up.
@AustriaBargain: Yet you condone unlawful imprisonment and assault by cabbages… You are sending mixed messages if you want to enforce a particular behaviour.
´s all good man!
guess they steal your data AND upsell to their estate planning
I guess this settles it then - Free Will does exist.
Hang on, I will have to just ask my wife.
We meant her, not you
Make sure you have your Will sorted before you ask her.
Cant imagine any "legal" document is going to be Free…
There is no Free Will, just an illusion of one
Free will or free won’t?
Upon my death, all of my belongings shall transfer to the man or animal who has killed me. Strange squiggly symbols
Yes I have free will. So does everybody. Didn't realise it was a deal.
It's free for the first year only then $15 a year, still a good deal. Thanks for sharing
Yeah, I mean, if I pass within 10 years… that's practically a steal.
Safewill is fine. I used from Groupon voucher.
It allows you to easily setup default template and questions using their form. So much better than using paper kits.
Then to legalise, you need to get offline signatures from 2 witnesses anyways.
So good is better than using the free paper based will kits. Not sure paying $15 each year worthwhile and can't remember how that works as there needs to be real signatures.
Their lawyer review takes 3-4 months to get back and not that good. If you need lawyer advice better to go to lawyer and get this made properly. Most charge one-off of $300-$400 but then they keep the will without annual fees. You pay few hundred dollars for each amendment.
Free editing included?
Not sure about this deal but they usually give you 12 months to edit
It does say unlimited updated (if you paying the 15 per month), not sure if its the case for this deal (I assume so)
I appreciate we all have a free will but is it possible for one to have a strong will and yet no will at all?
