Red pack also $5 at Coles this week.

    • $4 in Wollies Metro. Read my comment below ;-)

      • True, but not for the majority. Probably Metro store does not exist in some states at all.

      • That's surprising, metro stores are a rip in general, with no catalogue specials.

Picked up some kimchi, $5 max is the right price.

  • what’s with ozbargains obsession with this ramen?

    • +4

Its the best for the $$$

      • what's the best for any $$$?

    • +5

The black edition is actually awesome

      • +2

Yep, this one I dont like that much. Black edition is tasty

        • Black edition is slightly better than the red, HOWEVER give Nongshim's Champong Noodle Soup a try. I bought a 4pk from an Asian market and it is worth it!

          • @mryangtastic: Give the Chapaghetti a go - empty the water and mix it up dryish, not like a soup.

      • +3

        Once you go black….

        • I prefer blonde

@HolyCr4p: Maybe you mean cheese ramen ;-)

            • @neoleo: i like adding cheese to mine but i tried that yellow pack of this..not a fan

    • I agree that it's the best.

      https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/blog/best-instant-noodles…

I have it once or twice a week, never gets old.

  • strange it was $4 at my local earlier today, marked as a half price special

    • +1

      Bulgogi 4pk

    • Yes, only in Wollies Metro stores at the moment :) Shin Ramyun, Kimchi, and Neo Guri (seafood & spicy) also $4. Different Metro store, different stock availability for flavours other than Shin Ramyun.

  • +2

$4 at ww metro stores, same price for the kimchi flavour

    • +1

Same with my local ww Metro store. $4 for Shin Ramyun, Kimchi, and Neo Guri (Seafood & spicy).

      I checked from ww app.

    • Is Kimchi flavour too? I usually just get the red ones and add my some kimchi and whatever protein I might have in the fridge

      • Yes Kimchi flavour is available too in Woolworths Metro Central Park Sydney, but Neo Guri no stock …

    • +1

I wouldn't rely on that, the two I checked on the app said unavailable. You're lucky to get them at CBD woolies anyway unless you go early.

      • I just bought Shin Ramyun and Kimchi flavour ramen $4 in Woolworths Metro Central Park Sydney, but Neo Guri flavour is out of stock there. Bulgogi flavour is available there too at $4.

        • Great.
Bulgogi is a 4 pack, boo..
          (Didn't mind them though).

          • @G-rig: The ingredients cost more with "meat", that's why. You'll understand this when you see the ingredients inside :P

            • @neoleo: Nah, it's a few dried soy pieces, cheaper than meat if anything. Have had them before and good they vegetarian despite being a beef flavour. I think they are just more boutique, I wouldn't go out of my way to get them over the usual ones (but 1$ per packet good either way).

  • +2

Is this where someone mentions they only use half the stock powder because its so spicy?
Anyway, that's me, I use half noodles, half stock, and add a bit of Vegeta brand stock, and some random vegies (usually a 1/3 packet of Coles Kitchen Family Stir Fry Mix ) for the win. Each ramen packet is two (or three) servings.
If I'm at home (not work), I throw in a egg as well. Tuna (90g) cans also if I have been exercising.

    • me too. add in a little soy, a dash for fish sauce, a splash of sesame oil and some peanut butter and it goes next level.

    • Okay fine, I've already had dinner but I'll make up a bowl of DIY add-ons Red spicy.

    • Half because of the sodium content. If half water as well it should be just as spicy in theory. Anyway just experiment yourself if it's too spicy.

The Kimchi ones have a nicer more refined flavour profile imo so you could get those (not just outright hot).

Everyone can check local Woolworths Metro. I checked some other Metro stores in ww app too.
My local ww Metro store: $4 for Shin Ramyun, Kimchi, and Neo Guri (Seafood & spicy). Other Metro stores may only have Shin Ramyun, not the other flavours.

I checked from ww app. Thanks to Hayama's comment above :)

  • I do black pack ramen, add mixed vegetable, chilli, some cooked prawns, scrambled egg, bit of soy and sesame oil. Works well. Makes me feel like I'm not eating garbage at that point.

  • Black one has pork guys

    • Yes, I read the ingredients in its website too. I remember previously it contains beef only, not pork. I guess they have changed the ingredients maybe? I can eat any, so no problem.

  • If you're in Sydney CBD, the Korean grocery store on Liverpool St opposite World Square has these at $4.90

    • +1

Cheaper at Woolworths Metro at $4, also some other flavours $4 (if available). I checked some stores in ww app.

    • Mmm refined palm oil and palm oil.
      Ingredients look even more nasty.

    • Mild if people don't like too spicy. Shin Ramyun is not too spicy if compared with Buldak 3x maybe :P

I like Jin ramen mild, better taste than the spicy Jin ramen in my opinion.

  • +4

Hmmm doesn’t make sense to be cheaper at WW Metro.

    • +1

      probably old stock

      • +1

probably overlook overstock ;-) especially Bulgogi and Shin Ramyun in 2 aisles in Woolworths Metro Central Park Sydney. Kimchi flavour is also available when I was there.

    • @ilovefullprice Name check out … Doesn't align with Ozb spirit :P

I just bought Shin Ramyun and Kimchi flavour ramen in Woolworths Metro Central Park Sydney, but Neo Guri flavour is out of stock (all shows $4) there. Bulgogi flavour $4 is also available in 2 aisles (a lot of this and Shin Ramyun) there.

      • It’s some light hearted Aussie sarcasm mate, iykyk.

  • +1

Can't remember the last time I ate one of these without adding other ingredients.

You can literally add any protein or vegetable and it will be tasty.

    Today was Kale and eggs

    • spam or thinly sliced beef/lamb ftw

    • +1

mushrooms, shallots, zucchini goes great.. firm tofu, edamame etc all good.

spam lol.. more sodium and fat.

    • the half price chinese pork makes a great addition. spread over 2 meals
