Note: the 8BitDo controller is most likely the old model without the hall-effect joysticks.

thanks for this was just after this info :D

    • What are hall-effect controllers?

Hall Effect joysticks are a type of joysticks that use magnets and electrical conductors to measure their position, distance, and movement when in use. Unlike standard analog sticks, which use electrical resistance to detect movement, Hall Effect joysticks have no physical contact between the moving parts. This means that they do not wear out easily, and they do not develop stick drift, which is a common pain point for gamers. Stick drift is when the stick starts to behave unpredictably and causes unwanted movement in your game.

        • Oh sounds better! This one does not have this?

          • @Misha Bakunin: Banggood product page doesn't mention Hall-effect joysticks, so it's most likely the old model with standard/ALPS joysticks.

It also doesn't have Bluetooth just wireless, for that you need the Ultimate model, which looks almost identical to this. Wireless is just fine TBH, as long as you have a USB-A port to plug the dongle into. I did find that it's nice to have both when swapping between devices though, to have one set up as Wireless (my laptop for instance), and one set up for Bluetooth (my Ally). I do the same with my Wireless/Bluetooth mouse.

For those that are interested, this does have the XBox button layout, which is nice to have for those using it on PC/Ally. This post just reminded me to order the conversion buttons for my Ultimate controller, since it comes with the Nintendo Switch layout by default. They can't be just swapped around unfortunately.

  • Seems like it's only Pink left

  • Ok noob here so sorry, but would these controllers work with the Amiga 500 mini retro console? I need an extra controller….

Also I'm assuming they would work with a Windows machine?

Sorry I have no experience with controllers at all..

    • If they have USB port yes
