Thought I'd share this deal in case you're in the market for a compact projector, this particular one seems to be as good as it gets.

Jayce Ooi (youtuber) maintains a 'best projector' list which can be found here -

It was very helpful in decision making, coming from a Wanbo T2 Max this should be a nice upgrade.

Go on matey, it’s good for the economy*

*may not be good for the economy

    • Do it. You know you want to.

  • Looks like a good deal for local stock.

  • Good deal for local stock. Dangbei Atom is much better but also more expensive. Can be had for about $900 delivered on Ali sales with coupon.

Dangbei is brighter but more importantly has built in Google TV and Netflix cerification (no need for dongle when travelling).

Downside is it is not USB powered (but can be with an adapter).

    • What sort of adapter would you need, and would it be fine with a powerbank too? Or some downsides compared to using the formovie for travel?

  • +1

Seems to be cheaper on Aliexpress at $510

      $560 delivered with GST

  • I use this in my golf sim. It's great once you look past the chinese menus/sort out an english menu system. I remember being very pissed off on install, not knowing WTF I was clicking on.

Anyway, I now use it as only a hdmi screen, turn it on, it picks up the hdmi input, does it's auto focus/resize jiggery and away I go.

    • Doesn't this run Android, so pretty easy to switch to English? Or is it some sort of propietary OS based on Android?

EDIT: nvm, it is a OS based on android, user in video below installed "Projectivy launcher" for english support.

Just thought I'd link the video review from the spreadsheet in the OP

  • Also, anyone have an idea of how long this might last on a 20k mah power bank?

    • it's 65W so if you have a 65 watt 20K it would last almost 1hr 15 min.
to watch a complete movie you'd need 65W 40K power bank.

      • Ahh thanks, not ideal with air travel having a max of 20-30, thanks!

        • +1

          Then you bring 2 powerbanks.

        • Projector on a plane? Life goals!

          • @djackal79: Better than snakes on a plane.

Serious response. There are those seats that face the wall of the seats of cabin crew kitchen. I guess you can project it there.

  • 1100 ANSI lumens. Fine for a darker area. I struggle with washing colours on 1300

also its .23" dmd means 480p native and pixel shifts to produce a 1080p image.

    • Is there any visual difference between pixel shift and regular 1080p?

      • I don't believe there is a perceptible difference in visual fidelity. Unless it's like implemented really poorly or something.

  • I have a Xgimi Z6X and knowing this is a very similar machine. (0.33"Dnd vs 0.23", 800ansi vs 1000 ansi.

    Comparison video is HERE:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGKdrUCUv08

My Z6x is a bit too rich in Red color after 2 years in use and it seems not reveseable. But overall quite happy with it.

When seeing this Formovie one here, there isn't enough presuasion for me to switch.
