Based on the previous deal it used to be 74% pork, now it’s 71% pork.

    • H- how

      • +1

        Guessing more water now.

      • +1

        More melamine

    • Not really pork. Moisture infused pork.

      How much water I wonder?

  • +2

Damn they have cranked the red island price up too?

    • I believe the price has been increased for almost all/most Olive Oil (at least for Australian one).

      • +1

At what point is it a bargain

        • -3

The real question is, at what point do these people learn about inflation? There's a reason their welfare payment keeps increasing.

          • @R00D: A member for 14 years and you posted some of the worst 4 deals ive ever seen

      • +2

There is a global shortage. Commodity prices are still very high.

  • +4

Even at half price I don’t think it’s worth it, too fatty.

  • +2

I have tried the pork. Its ok, not great

  • +2

Yeah probably better off marinating your own pork with Lee Kum Kee sauce. This Woolworths one just doesn't taste great.

    • The thing about this cook range is that it's part cooked I think to make it ready in 45mins. Otherwise I don't have time for roast pork during the work week… I've tried this and it's decent. Not amazing but for a quickish meal it's good. I'll buy one at half price for sure if I can get some.

      • marinate the night before, cook for 45mins the next night, done.

I’m tipping all the Aussie olive oil producers are loving this years poor crop in Europe. Time to cash in.

    • Im buying avocado oil from costco now. I like it heaps more. I Live 5 hours away but i still prefer buying extra when im away rather then this "Bargain"

    • There was a poor crop in Australia too, so probably not

  • How does it taste? Worth a try for $7.50?

    • +2

tastes better at half price for $7.50 than it does for full price at $15, sources say

  • Anyone have cheaper options per litre for (ideally decent) olive oil if buying in larger quantities?

    • -1

It's on the border of decent, but Aldis Remano brand EVOO, at $50 for 3.78l is the best band for buck.

      • Note: ALDI's Remano EVOO is Product of Spain.

      • Might be the go thanks, only a coupla bucks cheaper per litre than this deal but it's something!

    • +1

This doesn't answer your question, but for $17.50/l you can get much better olive oil

      • Oooh thank you, great to know.

        • +1

Yeah, I figure it's worth shelling out a little more for a better product.

I'm on my first cask, but will be ordering more.

Put your BBQ on 200c, put the pork on and turn every 5 mins while basting with the sauce from the pork packet for 20 mins. Same again with the sauce from the satchel but just two turns. Pull it apart and mix with a fried rice… chefs kiss.
