  • This can be used in TimeZone - much better deal that double credits if you go for the $250 one

    • do you load it on the timezone card? i still have like $500 on my timezone card.

is this also only for video games? can i use it for anything else like bowling, food, etc…?

      • +2

Just had a chat with them on the same question, they confirmed this is only for arcade games.

        • dang it, i will have to pass on this one, it's taking me forever to try to burn threw my credit i already have, lol. great deal though, especially if you have like a kids birthday party or something. but unfortunately you would have to share that one card all day.

          • @Hugh G Rection: ask for multiple cards and transfer credits over

            • @Poor Ass: oh, you can do that? they denied me a few years ago from doing this. i will definitely avail this deal if i can split it between multiple cards.

              many thanks.

          • @Hugh G Rection: Load your Power card on your Google Wallet and then you can have someone use a phone and the other use a card.

Not saying this is a bad deal but i just feel there is no point in this deal when all timezone and kingpin have is just shitty mobile games on large screen, ticket grabbing machine, and crane games.

Every now and then they have rhythm and racing game, and maybe some shooting game but where are the arcade machines and older games?? Where are those metal slug, shmup games, and especially more light gun arcade games? Where can i find them in melbourne?

Ps sorry if i sounded rant-y, but i guess im just exasperated with the lack of good arcade games to use these credits on

    • +2

The mainstream arcade scene is changing. It isn't so much racing, shooting games etc. It's a lot more about crane games and coin pushing games.

      • +5

Really feeds into the gambling culture here. Start em young!

    • +2

especially more light gun arcade games

You can create your own light gun arcade at home using a Raspberry Pi 4, your TV and one or two Sinden Lightguns. Works great.

      • Yes, you're absolutely right, but I'd love arcades outside my home to be a proper third place too, a place where can socialize with strangers and/or my friends (since i'm not really that thrilled about cafe)

    • +2

I spent hours on the weekend playing at Kingpin Crown Melb with my kids - we thought it was excellent and the spread of games was awesome (compared to Timezones in Adelaide) - maybe my standards are too low?

    • • Space Invaders Frenzy @ Timezone Northland
      • Aliens Armageddon, GunBullet X, Halo Fireteam Raven, The Walking Dead @ Timezone Eastland

I found from a quick search that all of the Timezones in Melbourne have Wangan 6RR, a selection of rhythm games, and most have a copy of Time Crisis 5.

If you're looking for more traditional arcade games, these (Timezone unaffiliated) places have a wider selection of those machines:
      • GAMR LASER TAG & VR in Chirnside Park
      • Bartronica in the CBD on Flinders Lane
      • Arcade Garage on High Street

  • $600 credit, perfect for Ozbargain meetup ??

    • only if you live stream

      • you will see me at the claw machine and the bowling

        • nice

is it only certain amount of grips actually have strength and the rest are just floppy

          • @Poor Ass: Yeah most are rigged as f, some timezones definitely have a higher chance of getting stuff

  • +2

Keeping the additional credits/offers aside, I feel some of the games are way too short for the advertised price

  • Thanks OP!

Has anyone read the fine print? Are there any exclusions on the goods and services?

    • So can I use this for tenpin bowling?

Edit: No! See my comment below

    • +1

You can only use this credits on Arcade games, and the credits expire 1 year from the last use date. You cannot use this credit for anything else.

      • Thanks. I was reading the t&c when you replied :)

      • I have played ten pin bowling at timezone, no problem.

  • +1

Good deal if you stacked up on the 10% off Ultimate Gift Cards via Amazon in recent weeks.

    • +2

or just the 10% off Ultimate cards in general from previous Coles, Woolies & Aldi deals

  • never been there, could the credit use for dining as well?

    • No, and not on alcohol . I checked :D

  • +1

DOUBLE DOLLARS IS FOR ARCADE CREDITS ONLY.

    I read the t&c

Also, $20 sign up bonus expires in 30 days. Any power card credit expires within 12 months:

Powercards will expire 12 months from the last in-venue use date, at which time any unused balance and Powertickets will be forfeited. App reloads do not count towards extending your Powercard expiry.

I think OP should clarify these points in the description

    Retracted my upvote

    • +1

I didn't know about the 12 mth expiry and went once last june and got 6K tickets and they expired. Thank goodness Timezone had good customer service and reactivated them. I rewarded the good service by going Timezone yesterday.

  • +1

perfect to use the 15 percent off i just got

    • Can you stack it with the $250 for $600? It's online only

      • i am referring to the e gift cards bought thru the prime deal which was 15 percent off, not sure if you got those

        • I am referring to that 15% discount as well. Will you be able to use the gift card on Kingpin's online payment platform?

          • @zpzpfhfh: should be fine, i tried previously with ultimate gift cards and it did not work but since these are straight up their own gift cards, no reason why it shouldnt work

          • @zpzpfhfh: Trying to experiment on their online portal with a mock transaction but I'm not seeing an option to use the gift card, anyone had experience with using one previously for this?

  • Nvr been to timezone, how many credits a single game takes? Trying to calculate how much i should get

    • +1

In general, between $2.50 and $3.

  • Would this work at Crown's arcade in Melbourne?

  • To clarify, can I bring a timezone powercard and reload that at a kingpin location (or does it have to be a kingpin powercard)?

    • +1

yes you can do that.. however the 2.4x reload is online only

      • thanks mate, understood

      • Can you reload a timezone card online via Kingpin?

      • Ah, so you mean that with my Timezone card/account with some credits on it still,
I can still purchase the $250/get $600 on that account using this offer, instead of creating a new KingPin account for the $250/get $600?

        • +1

          i believe so,

because i logged in with my timezone account details on the kingpin website and it showed all of my details. the interface looked different from the timezone one.

give it a try and logon. if you can, then you just wait till the offer is active,

i don't believe you can set up an account without a card online. if you want a new card i think you'll need to get a card before hand and link it up before the offer is active,

          • @Archi: Yes you're right! I logged into Kingpin using my Timezone phone number/email, and it showed my credits there. I just used the Kingpin website to load up $250+$350, and now in my Timezone account, I've got $600 extra credits. Thank you!

  • If you have 2 separate cards, can you apply the credit across them both?

    • +1

I mean you would have to do separate transactions, so if you do a load for $100 for $200 and wanted them halved then no

  • Does this work with a WA Timezone card?

  • How do you load e gift card to kingpin? Do you add voucher for credits then load up on card?

  • So if I load $250 I get 600 and use it all on timezone and king ping bowling! Nice , how about strike bowling?

    • Strike is a different brand entirely.not related to Kingpin/Timezone/Zone bowling

  • Timezone is also doing double dollars this weekend, however no 2.4x online load. Kingpin is the better offer if spending $250 for $600 credit.

  • +1

Anyone know how to reedem a giftcard online? Trying to take advantage of this offer but it only accepts credit card on checkout.

  • So just double checking.. Kingpin credits can be used at Timezone, but I only for the arcade games + claw machines?

  • Can't pay via GC on the kingpin site 😕

  • Wtf can't pay via GC on Kingpin site..

  • +1

Had a chat with Kingpin phone support.

You're meant to be able to use a gift card online, but it seems for this deal the option to do so isn't available.

    • That's so stupid

    • How about ultimate gift cards, I think they work as credit card

      • Did you manage to get this to work?

  • Will this work at Timezone on those coin machines?
