  • Ordered one! Thanks OP

  • I know absolutely nothing about tools but isn't aluminium a poor choice for blades that are cutting basically any other metal?

    • +2

Must be listing error, Knipex says "surgical steel, stainless, vacuum-hardened" - (datasheet)

    • These are not designed for cutting anything metal.
The handle even says "DO NOT CUT STEEL"

      About this item
For cutting cardboard, plastics, aluminum, brass and copper foils
Not suitable for steel wire or iron sheets

      • Hmmm but the photos show it cutting wires… Oh well, they must have goofed something.

        • +1

It would be fine with (thinnish) copper wire, presumably. These are a bit light on specs, apparently they are a rebrand not designed/manufactured by Knipex.

Do yourselves a favor and buy a pair of sterling black panther shears.

    aluminium blade…….no thanks………….stainelss steel blade…….yes please

    • That's a listing error but nice of you to call it out and recommend what would have been/may be a better product

    • Beat me to it. They are my go to in a few tool set ups I use.

    • I have the black panthers and they are so good! I'm not a tradie or anything, but for around the home and garden - they do an amazing job.

  • +2

It is stamped "Stainless" on the blades in the pictures.

  • Is this like a light duty version of Irwin utility snips?

  • Some reviews say poorly made. Not made in Germany
