  Has anyone had any issues with the buttons on Garmin watches being unresponsive? I've had a Garmin FR245 for about 2 years now, and I found the buttons to be unresponsive around a year after purchase. I find myself having to press the button anywhere from 3-5 times just to do a simple command.

    My Vivoactive 4's buttons have been OK. I'd recommend raising a support ticket for yours, have heard that their support team are usually quite good

    No, I bought the white one from the JB hi-fi deal probably a couple years ago as well and still going strong. Worn in the shower every day

    I've had my FR245M for over 3 years now and the buttons have worked flawlessly. I recently upgraded to an Instinct 2 and I wish the Instinct buttons were as prominent as the 245M

  This is almost the price of an Epix on discount. What makes these so pricey? I bought my Forerunner 245 Music for $261…

    Previously, Garmin used to reduce previous gen watch to about half price… I.e. full price of 955 (or 945 when it came out) around $900 they will reduce it to $450 (when on sale of coruse, not 100% of the time). These days, they only reduce to about 30% max. Mind though, 265 is still the current gen (not for long).

        My philosophy is not to wait for the next gen with any devices otherwise you would always be waiting until tomorrow forever. I just buy them when I need them. So I haven't really researched that much. But possibly half a year or so? 265 came out in March 2023 and they usually update them every two years. 265 starts to get a little dated now by electronics standards.

          @Musiclover: Completely agree you can always wait forever for the next thing. I have a VenuSQ at the moment. Might go take a look at the FR265 at the shops this week - I don't really need an upgrade, it's more of a luxury purchase. Thanks for your reply, we'll see what I do :)

          @Musiclover: Agree. Do they really update every 2 years? Seems like this is the "replacement" for the 245 in a way, and that was "the go to cheaper model" for almost 5 year. Well that's my perspective, can be hard to keep up with the minutiae between models.
