As title suggest, I’m keen to hear what everyone’s been like of late
And if you also show with temu, how does that compare
Any general feedback would be appreciated
Thanks

Long time AliExpress user.
Recently I've noticed their prices have gone significantly up, but also shipping times seems to be about half what they used to be.
I still find they are the cheapest english option for knick-knacks. Eg the random stuff my Mum finds on tiktok.
Recent experience not so good,
AliExpress was quick to refund but some sellers on all online platforms including Amazon and Ebay are lately becoming scammers,
trying to sell defective or bad stock then trying to offer percentage refund when complaint lodged.
Very good experience, post covid things ship really fast within 10 days or less. My only bad expierience was returning a backpack which was such as hassle as i had to translate the shipping address to English which was sketch as (profanity). I returned the package, got my refund and the package returned back to me 6 months later lmao. Oh well, free backpack with a blade scratch on it
Return these days are a local address with labels provided
When a company fails to honor its stated customer service policy regarding missing items from orders and the issue of refunds its time to say good bye.
I nearly fell for the bait and switch on A Caiwei Ultra HD daylight projector that was listed at $631.20 for Prime members during recent Prime sale.
After placing my order yesterday I now see that the product as listed today has changed to a standard 1080P projector only.
Fortunately I was able to cancel my order with Amazon.
Note that now on Amazon AU the Caiwei Ultra hd projector is priced at……drum roll AUD$1376.27.
And there was me bagging Aliexpress and thinking how good was Amazon AU.
Didnt lose any money but wasted many hours looking for a UHD projector I could afford only to find it was advertised falsely.
Currently using trusty Panasonic PT-AE8000 on a 120" cinemascope screen its still ok but it doesn't do UHD or support HDR.
Had saved screenshot of specs at ordering time, lucky for me…not
Bought a smart light, nbn decides to poop itself, light is now a dumb light as it lost connection to wifi, trying to reset as per manual or other online suggestions fails to back to linking mode, does nothing. Been going around circles trying to prove it’s faulty with customer service. Keep getting the same response “please upload another video of you attempting resetting” at least 3 times. Money in the bin.
Teal Deer ie TL;dr - could be a busted wifi chip or could just be a pain to get back into pairing mode.
Have Arlec and Aldi Smart lights.
The Aldi ones go into pairing mode if they are switched on and off too quick, while the Arlec take a good 3 attempts to do so by switching on, waiting for 1 to 3 seconds then switching off.
Depending on which app you use (Tuya etc), it should give you various suggestions for your lights.
Ive had to sometimes unscrew a light from power then connect back after 30 seconds (not all lights can be removed from power)
It ain't always easy to get something into pairing mode even using the manufacturer's instructions, a Bluetooth speaker said to use reset pin after turn on to clear pairings but I had to unpair it from the other device first every time.
I found aliexpress to be cheaper than temu
AliExpress android app is consuming your battery even when app is not even opened for days. Probably running in background sending data to China.
That's my experience with them lately.
Oh no. So did you call ASIO? How dare they send data to China when it should be going to the legends in Silicon Valley in the US instead!
Didn't mean to be rude, everyone does collect data but I don't see any other apps running crazy like this when haven't even opened the app for days.
Is it actually "sending data to China" or is it just a bug where it's stuck refreshing the latest deals or something like that?
Maybe crypto miner running on background.
Ordered ceramic spoons and the contractor that delivered threw the package through the driveway gate (as usual didnt ring the door bell). Spoons smashed to pieces and i lodged a refund via the app before the delivery was even marked as complete. The refund hit my paypal account 3 hours later. I dont judge on what they get right, i judge them based on how they deal with issues.
I've found 1/4 of orders don't get fulfilled/sent and I end up waiting months before I get a refund. Very hit and miss.
$1 coupan for late delivery ( from memory per item)
No, per order.
I gave it a shot recently and 90% of the order arrived and was good but one item from same order went to the “wrong address”. The seller and Ali refused to refund me for the missing item so I had to get a refund via PayPal. No clue where it went. I’ve found temus customer service to be much better.
I ordered 6 rash vests on AliExpress. 2 hours later I received a WhatsApp message asking me to confirm sizing. The person then made me measure myself. 6 great quality, bespoke rash vests turned up about 4 weeks later. Much better service than I have ever received in Australia.
Fine just buy from high review sellers I've never had an issue.. Postage used to take forever but now (since start of this year) I seem to receive things to Sydney in a little over a week, 2 weeks at most. Faster than many interstate ebay sellers…
edit: The only issue are the delivery people.. I think some third party couriers deliver mine but they literally throw the AliExpress packages for some reason and treat them pretty badly on delivery so boxes of items usually arrive dented, but haven't had anything broken yet.
Why don't I have free delivery? It says spend $15 for free shipping, but I'm still getting charged $3 for shipping?
it will be free at the checkout
Im done with Ali Express from the misleading promo codes to goods not arriving. For me it will be better to pay a little more and go eBay or Amazon. More peace of mind on returns too.
Latest issue I ordered headset and wireless keyboard mouse on promo code. Headset arrived no problems but kb mouse didn't just so happens the promo applied to kb mouse so I got refunded a few dollars. They didn't refund the promo code and when asked they disconnected me twice. Wouldn't have made the purchase if not for the code so I ended up paying more for the headset… Should have went to eBay in this instance. 🙄
Recently ordered an incorrect item by mistake, initiated a return and they refunded me immediately (PayPal) and said no return necessary - feel free to keep or dispose the item.
Found that quite interesting as it's never happened before. Usually I almost always get asked to send it back.
Quality is still fine, prices still much cheaper than elsewhere, only thing that has changed is shipping now much faster
Same experience here, I've been really impressed
Yeah, to echo everyone here, a lot of prices have gone up, however, MANY items come damaged, if not damaged, the box has gone through the ringer.
Only worth it for me when there's sales.
Returns are a pain!
Terrible and avoid if you can. I’ve been buying regulary since 08 however tgey now use Fast Horse Express and it’s an absolute nightmare.
The couriers are throwing the parcel over the fence and my dog tears them to bits. I lodged a complaint and get only automated responses. Aliexpress won’t refund as they say it was delivered safely.
Absolute joke!
Just the past month or so I've noticed deliveries in inner Sydney no longer come to your house but rather straight to a "HUBBED" collection point (i.e., a newsagency a suburb away). I contacted the courier, and they confirmed they would never attempt delivery to my door because it's a click and collect service. Correct me if I'm wrong but Choice advertise delivery, not click and collect. It's ok now that I know, I just won't shop there as much but it's pretty annoying to have to find it out this way.
No idea what's happening with your deliveries, but my Choice (and non-choice) deliveries always get delivered to me.
most likely you have a bag egg of a local driver
Its been pretty miss and miss. They have some crazy delivery times to the extent that you just forget you even ordered it. The last few times, the items actually never arrived after the full delivery window and needed refunds.
