The Pirate Bay of very old times.

Did that too, in the 90s. I had a mike and would dub over songs like I was a DJ too. Good times.

    • hot summer days driving in the panel van , no air con, no electric windows and duran duran on the cassette player, lunch of a chicko roll and RC cola.

remember many years ago, went to a UK primary school for summer camp
and played computer games from cassettes

To play the game again, flip the cassette to another side and start again
was kind of fun actually LOL

    • +1

Yeah these ones work quite well in commodore64s, can confirm.

    • +2

Was your computer camp like this?

Might have to go back to old school stuff like this after what happened today

    • Thought nukes are still launched with floppy discs.

  • lol at the guy in the armchair on the label. Even after all these years they're still milking that 40 year old ad.

TRS80 needs a new one. Perfect timing

  • Love the colourful intro, nice 👍

  • Got a link to any tape deck recorders one can buy to record on these tapes?

  • +1

Somehow you knew exactly what song would be playing on the other side of the tape deck (side B) when you were playing your tunes. And yes TDK quality was superior but expensive so cheaped out on Maxell's

  • Has anyone tried backing up their Commodore 64 games using these tapes?

    I usually stick to TDK.

  • Thought it was a slab of tooheys red at first glance

  • Waiting for the superior CrO2 tapes to be released

  • Man we get deals for vinyls and now deals for cassettes, no respect for CDs :(

    • Yeah I know it seems like the industry is letting CDs die off a slow death. But it is nice seeing vinyl and tape having a weird second coming though - and who knows, maybe the millenials and zoomers enjoying vinyl and tape will give way to gen alpha enjoying a second renaissance of CDs and minidiscs? I don't see any new physical formats being created by industry, so it really only leaved resurrection of past formats.
And if the industry doesn't want to sell CDs, well there are easy to access places that basically every pressing of every CD ever can be located for free digitally..

  • I’m a massive physical media enthusiast and collector, however I no longer have any form of cassette tape playback devices in my home. A couple of years ago I got rid of a little over 20 year old model Sony 60 CD changer that also had a tape deck which was still working (I had trouble letting go of it, because it was the first CD player stereo I bought myself with my own money when I was 20 years old in 2002)… I put it out on the kerbside/nature strip without a kerbside collection pickup booking and someone took it within 20 minutes after putting it out (I don’t condone this though, I work for a council, so unless it’s something that’s not junk that you know for sure will be taken quickly, I don’t advise this… We fined someone last week $30000 for illegally dumping rubbish, make no mistake councils do investigate illegal dumpings)

  • Any Sony Walkman deals to go with it?
