I bought this last time at this price, it's great for guitar and vocals, and pretty good for just listening to music

Have used this for 3 years plus now and its incredible. Literally stays in the car and taken out at partys, events, dance practices, gigs the whole lot. Maybe use it 2-3 times a week and its still going strong. Would consider getting another one.

  • Could I pair this with S1 Pro Plus. I am looking to add another one but not sure if the same S1 Pro+ is better.

A lot of bang for buck here. I have two :-)

Probably leans towards being a PA speaker for musicians rather than a party speaker, but you can always add a sub for full range music (planning on this in the future).

Two is great. Stereo bluetooth pairing can be a little glitchy. Last time I used them both at a small event I just used them mono and ran a line cable from one to the other. Was fantastic for background music.

Very good with a vocal and acoustic guitar.

    • Bose are always dope af but lack low bass. That said, No speaker for this size and weight will have significant sub bass.

I've got 2x soundboks go and good low bass but its a reminder that sub bass exists but cant be produced by the speaker size.

Id definitely grab a sub for the s1 pro if it doesn't have the wireless glitches you mention.
      Very interesting

Bose Sub1 would match well I think…there is some sort of setting to run it with these. Not sure about Sub2, might be similar story (but more power). I have a pair of fairly serious commercial subs that I've been meaning to try (one of) with these just for fun and to see how impressive they can get, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

Using a sub where mains power isn't available is a problem. A little power station would probably do the job, and I believe the Bose Sub1 will only draw a couple of hundred watts peak - a 300 watt capable battery power should do it as a minimum.

I don't think Bose offers a battery integrated sub. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of solutions anywhere.

  • Purchased one of these during Covid. Awesome unit. I paid ~$900

Pair with something like https://www.amazon.com.au/Wireless-Microphone-Rechargeable-P… (or better still the twin pack)

and get a cheap Karafun subscription (or just use youtube) https://www.karafun.com/karaoke/ and you have yourself an awesome karaoke setup that is portable and no wires - straight from your phone.

You can pair two of these speakers up as well.

  • Will this suit as floor monitor and/or for electronic drum kit

    • Or pc speakers?

      • +1

It’s overkill for that but it sounds good at low levels too.

    • Very much so.

    • I wouldn't be running any bass heavy stuff at volume through them without a sub….that includes kick drum. At lower volumes should be fine and do just as well as any small monitor. Add a sub and they would be awesome I'm sure.

By way of example…Billy Eilish's 'Bad Guy' caused these to distort when I tested at mid to upper volumes. The bass line and kick is just too much.

For vocals or acoustic guitar…I reckon they'd probably be fine for a floor monitor. In a loud band they may get drowned out. I once tried Galaxy Spots in a rock-centric cover band, and they had difficulty keeping up (eventually moved to wireless IEMs…which solves so many problems).

  • Love this speaker

Can confirm these devices are GREAT! Probably lacking a little bass if you're wanting it as a one-stop speaker for performing. But all in all these are a really impressive device, I manage two or three of these at work, and they're reliable, great quality (audio and build), and at this price are amazing value.

  • Hows the battery life at full blast?

    • Can't comment on full blast, but self leakage is low and at lower to moderate volumes for a few hours at a function the charge indicators on mine didn't even change.

I haven't used mine in anger for months now, and they are still sitting at 75 - 100% (hopefully the lower end of that range, as it's bad to leave them at 100%). I used them a little after last fully charging to (hopefully) ensure the charge was closer to 80-ish, but it's difficult to tell.

I think I read somewhere a spec of 11 hours or so for higher volume use.

      • How confusing 😆

        • I do that sometimes.

Ok…impressions so far from my experience

          -quality battery
          -quality battery management
-low/mid volume usage doesn't consumer much charge
-high volume usage should meet (or get close to) Bose claims of "Up to 11 hours of play when used at high output levels for performance use you can count on"
