Don't see these increased often and even if only 5% it's better than nothing. Higher then the others ATM.

Hmm, I wonder if it includes all the sub-categories under Electronics including cameras (as currently shown in Amazon). CR has Cameras separately with a much lower rate 0.7%.
"Cashback declined"
@tightarse can you shed light on this particular example? Keen to buy a camera lens and 5% would be almost 90 dollars. I used your old approach of using my desktop browser and checking the top left, and it clearly shows "Electronics".
Hi. Unfortunately it’s not a fullproof method and it’s been proven that sometimes even the most obvious items fall into a category that defies belief. Camera lenses in general will fall under the Cameras category (1%). Please note also we have no recourse with Amazon should an item track in a ‘incorrect’ category. Cheers.
Can it get sorted out so we actually know what the category is - even if it's not what we'd expect (e.g. if camera lenses are in the bathroom category) - just so we know for sure which category it actually is? The "look at it on the PC, bold word top left" isn't accurate/reliable enough…
This Is not about items in incorrect categories. I suggest TCB should list sub categories that have different rates to the parent categories like cameras which sit under electronics, so people would naturally think that’s the latter’s rate because there are no exclusions mentioned. Otherwise many people will be upset when their cash back is not at the rates they thought. “All other” as a catch all is too vague and does not make sense as it said nothing about sub categories. CR and SB make it clear so there’s no misunderstanding.
Suggestion: With your influence in the AU market (even better if you can align with competitors) Recommend Amazon create a 'category' lookup tool (via a simple webpage or API call). Type URL or ID, get category. Simples.
@Gav: Hi Gav. This was suggested to them during my time at CR but nothing ever came of it. It's an issue globally, not just in their AU market and hopefully one day soon they will oblige. Or maybe just give us a flat rate :)
@tightarse: Agreed, and we all know profit varies wildly by category (i.e. more clenching involved in some categories). :)
I don't get out of bed for less than 10%…
You have high standard. A lot of people here are willing to get out of bed and jump hoops for $2 cash backs LOL.
The best was probably the Westpac 10% bonus on all categories (electronics went from 0 to 0.5%) yesterday, but this is good too.
Wish we'd get a hint whether it would be higher at all over the next couple days! But I'm thinking probably the best it'll get for electronics..
