    • reviews mention those are refurbished

    • The 18TB is refurbished though?

      • Oh my bad then

  • 16TB, Reviews mention refurb but this

    https://amzn.asia/d/00T4Mmi4

is sold my Amazon Germany, and contacted support with confirmation that they are New and Unused…
So, can get refund / return if not, but yeah…

Ended up purchasing from East Digital anyways.

    • Look at the second picture on the listing of the 16GB and it says Recertified. Interesting it doesnt say anything in the main listing though. Also a lot of neg comments.

    • All the latest reviews say it is a refurb

      • +1

That is why my comment starts with ‘Reviews mention refurb but…’

Will be more specific next time.

        Thanks !

  • Ive been looking at this one for last 48hrs

    Seagate IronWolf Pro NAS ST18000NE000 - Hard Drive - 18 TB - Internal - 3.5 Inch, SATA3 7200RPM 256MB Cache (Refurbished) https://amzn.asia/d/09Q34mh2

    Thoughts?

    • What's the advertised warranty on this refurb? I could not see it specified?

      • I tried to find out some time ago. I contact Seagate and Amazon and neither could tell me. For this reason I didn't pull the plug. If you find out please let me know

  • Almost 3% failure rate according to the latest backblaze report.

  • Refurbished if you like living on the edge

    • The 12TB does not seem to be refurbished.

    Same price ($330) for 14TB here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/314782472056

    • Is this new or refurbished ?

      • +2

New. Bought already 6 drives from the same seller, 2x10TB 2x12TB and 2x14TB. All working well for a few years now, spinning 24x7. I assume they have AU stock as they get delivered in 3-4 days.

        • Awesome grabbing one then , thanks

      • At that price wouldn't the usual suspicion apply that they're used drives with the hours wiped? Per people's feeling about East Digital?

        • Following that logic the one in this deal is also "suspicious" at $330, because here they are reatiling for $450… All I know is the one I linked is sold as new, with warranty. Is that true or not? Don't know. But the 10TB and 12TB I got from the same seller have been spinning for the last 3 years and still showing as "healthy".

          • @Alx75: Ah thanks. So the listing says 2 year warranty, and that is via Seagate Australia (Or China)? When you put the serial no into this page: https://www.seagate.com/au/en/support/warranty-and-replaceme…

            • +1

@Horacio: Checked it with the serial number of one of my 14TB drives and I got…

"Warranty Information Not Available. Please contact support. Regional warranty restrictions apply. Rescue Data Recovery Service Plan Valid Until 28 December 2026."

So I went on chat with support, confirmed that I'm in Australia, and they confirmed warranty is valid until 28 December 2026, same as data recovery plan.

              Hope that helps.

              • @Alx75: Certainly does - many thanks for sharing!

  • Bought 2 drives. They were brand new all in Seagate packaging. Passed all the checks with flying colours. Waiting for the price to come down again so i can buy more!

    Thanks op!
