I just found out it was because of the KFC restaurant - I tried it in another KFC and it worked, it would give me an error saying the offer can not be applied at checkout. This was at the Swanson Street restaurant opposite RMIT

This plus survey free 600ml drink :D. Anybody know if fine to pick up survey drink at drive-thru? Even though it says 'in-store only'… seems abitrary
I tried to get that 600ml drink after filling out the survey about 6 months ago. The store refused it after I showed them the email with the code and making a purchase over $6. I then logged a ticket with KFC and they completely ghosted me.
Best to use it via Drive Through, that crew ain't got time to punch in a code. They will just give you the drink. Use this info at your own risk

@Catsfan070911: In my experience, they never check the code. I never do the survey and just write a random 5 digit number on the receipt, never had an issue yet.

Isn't the 'drive-thru' the same as 'in-store only'? It's either 'in-store' or 'delivery' and the 'drive-thru' is simply the lazier method of 'in-store'.

My local store has never had a problem with me getting the free drink at the drive thru together with an app order. I just mention I have the survey code for the drink at the speaker, they ask me what drink I'd like, and they hand it over at the window with my order. Half the time they don't even ask to see the email.
Drive thru is the best place to redeem as they don't really check the code. Most of the time I order on app, tell them the number and redeem a soft drink at the speaker box. You then just wave your phone with the email on it at the first window. They probably don't want to hold up the queue so they usually just give out the drink without much checking and strictly speaking you shouldn't reuse the same email if you understand what I mean. YMMV.
Haha go ahead for reusing the email ( i do the same) - beware i know some managers will check the date, even in drive thru.

KFC Rhodes has marked wicked wings ‘unavailable’ all day. Interestingly open for order in regular boxed meals.

That's weird. Why would they do that? Surely it wouldn't be so they could sell it at full price and maximise their margins… please tell me we aren't at that stage yet.
Yeah, strange. Their Restaurant manager has obviously disabled it. My experience at KFC Rhodes has been pretty poor in the past too…
