I only hvae a vintage Seiko Clock from the 60s or 70s that uses a C battery and has a sweeping hand.

      • Usually bigger and clearer so it can be seen across an office
      • Quiet so that ticking doesn't affect workers

      And then just load it onto a little PC to show on a nice display

      from what I remember, the IKEA clock had really annoying loud tick tock sounds. not great if you want a quiet living room.

    I have a "silent" Seiko clock.
    It uses a light sensor to detect when it's getting dark and then stops the second hand on the 12 until it gets light again the next morning. And, yes, the other two hands continue to work but don't make any noise.
    (Don't know if this is the same.)
