  I bought a white grey one not too long ago and it does come with a strong silicone smell, which is coming from the seal inside the lid. There are several reports of this on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Owala/comments/1ammvq4/new_bottle_g…

  I had to put hot water in the bottle and let it sit a day or so and empty it - repeat about 3 times - then only the smell is somewhat bearable.

  I’m getting used to it now - just a word of warning for those who are planning to keep hot (not boiling) water in it and are sensitive to the smell.

  Buying Owala on Amazon is such a frustrating experience, different and arbitrary prices for every colour and size that constantly fluctuate, and different designs split across different listings making it very hard to compare

    Not comparable, Owala explicitly say it's not made for hot beverages. I tried and the hot water spurted out the top when I opened it, plus the lid is plastic so a lot of heat escapes from the top.

      Ah thank you. Forgot cold insulation doesnt always translate to hot insulation. Will stick to zojirushi!

    If just for water, the straw in the Owala makes drinking easier, especially when on the go or driving, without needing to tilt the bottle.

  Bought one of these recently. Great quality bottles. The whole straw/spout thing is a little weird. Doesn't fit in my car drink holders or door drink holders unfortunately.

  so had my eye on the standard colours for these for past few days. the prices are constantly changing even more frequently than usual.

  every colour seems to fluctuate and last night they seemed to be the cheapest I have seen. saw the 16oz as low as $23 (sold out now), 24oz as low as $28. now all over $40.

    Damn, I probably would have bought one of the normal colours, if I had seen them at $28! (Summer sweetness too vibrant and colourful for me! lol)
