the cons are not really cons, the spout is for your mouth, if you want to pour you can take the lid off and pour it out without that small splash. All thermal bottles are not dishwasher safe, even if they say it is
Hydro flasks are dishwasher safe, any reason why they are not?
the temps in the dishwasher can damage the vacuum seal causing it to leak and become a regular bottle
@viper8548: My Kinto have been run through dishwasher (all three of them) multiple times per week for the last 2 years. They are dishwasher safe. Can't speak for other brands
@viper8548: Yeti advertises their products as dishwasher safe
I agree. The bottle is great to hold icy cold water, so the segmented section also prevents ice from pouring out.
The locking mechanism and seal is superior to any bottled water out there. I'd be more than okay chucking it with my laptop with zero concerns.
Been using this bottle (but black) for years going through dishwasher. It still works but the black coating on the outside is half peeled off. Looking forward to a few more years when it is completed peeled off.
I have a Tiger with a similar tiny drinking hole and it ruins the whole bottle for me. Takes 5x longer to drink anything from that bottle because it pours out so slowly
I bought a Tiger. It leaks all the time. Waste of money. Stick with the ZOJIRUSHI . It keeps my hot drinks hot and the cold ones cold all day. The Tiger lets my hot drinks go cold in a couple of hours.
I have this, it doesn't splash if you use it as intended. The mouth/hole in it it is split into two - a bigger hole and a smaller one at the top. This is intentional so that the smaller one acts as a breather hole to pull air in when pouring.
If you tilt it too much or hold it at an angle like the video shows, it could splash. But if you hold it at he angle of the spout and tilt it a bit, water will come out relatively smoothly.
I know it sounds complicate but this comes naturally when you drink from it.. Feels almost like drinking from a cup/mug.
Have this for a few years now and love it.
Is this for coffee?
U can. But it will stain eventually as usual
Soak in cafetto or napisan 👌
Denture tabs are my go-to
Stain what? The inside vacuum silver colour? I’ve had one for 6 mths with coffee in it most of the time and never stained - I do rinse it out every day or so though.
Also looking for something for coffee that is able to be kept hot overnight for 12-16 hours.
This is the one.
Ceramic inside + stainless steel double wall is better
I have the black version of this and I absolutely love it.
Lightweight and easy to drink from. It's my go to bottle to carry anywhere due to the minimal weight.
There's a Thermos one too that's also very similar but has a different locking mechanism and heavier (still a bargain for under half the price of this).
Owned it for years and consider it essential.
Is it easy to clean the lid drinking hole?
The lid has removable rubber parts and i find it easy to clean
I'm just a hot chocolate drinker. Every now and then I use a pipe cleaner to get rid of some residue, otherwise standard in sink washing does the job easily.
For anyone wanting a much bigger one for about 13 bucks more.

How do these compare with the Contigo versions, which have a spill proof mechanism?
I have both and get more use out of the Contigo, purely for the reason these hold heat too well for my purpose.
I make coffee in the morning and 5 hours later Contigo is at a drinkable temp, Zojirushi is still scolding hot.
Edit:I have a larger size Zojirushi that I use to keep water cool on hikes and it's perfect.
Depends on your temperature preference and use case. I prefer the Zojirushi, because it keeps liquids at the same temperature overnight.
Stupid question but what sort of drinks do you use with this? Someone above said coffee will stain the mug
Does it fit car cup holder?
Yes fits all my previous and current car. It's skinny in size compared to others.
This or hydro flask for coffee and tea.

Maybe hydro flask. These keep my coffee way too hot for the whole day. You'd probably have to let it sit for a while and then pour, keep the lid open, or throw a few ice cubes. I do like my zojiroshi as a general bottle tho.
I have both. Zojirushi keeps the liquids way too hot for far too long. I prefer the zojirushi for tea and hydroflask for coffee.
Always wanted to try one of these but Yeti are properly dishwasherable, so convenience wins.
Arnt yeti very expensive compared to this?
I prefer contigo brand. they are currently on offer too
How do you clean these..on regular use, I always get these stained with tea?
Bought one based on Ozb recommendation. Very satisfied with the product, the design is very human.
I bought this model a few years ago when it was highlighted on OzB.
This may well be the single item I am most satisfied with over many years of pursuing OZ Bargains.
Is this good enough for infant hot water use for formula
Yes it is, I've used it for our little one on road trips and overnight stays.
Where is it made in?
Just like all things. When they don't tell you, and you know it is not Japan or Australia etc…
Purchased from Amazon U.S, made in Thailand. Have purchased other Zojirushi thermal flasks from Amazon Japan. Also made in Thailand.
Expensive for a water bottle. But again so are the yetis. The yeti's are solid as hell though. This sale price is very very good. Maybe worth it's salt now
Good for Kids? I'm trying to see other options than B.Box ones
My 8 and 11 year old are using them and both love them. Much better than Frank Green IMAO.
Frank Green… the hipster's choice

Dont like the cons but seems like a good price.
