I imagine that this would be a great birding lens for the newer Z-mount.

Nikon has previously released a 200-500 f5.6 in 2015 for the F-mount system which now goes for upwards of $1k used.

    Back up to $2,527.56 now. Check with your local camera store and support them - they can likely sell closer to that.
