Best Robot Vacuum under $400

With Prime Week kicking off, I was looking at biting the bullet on a Robot Vacuum for my tile and carpet apartment. Would like mopping capability too.

$400 is not a hard limit, can stretch it a little bit for the right product.

Ideally the best robot vacuum/mop would be the one that does the best cleaning job, but a nice to have would be Home Assistant integration or little to no cloud functionality so it’s not sending data back to base all day long.

I would have agreed a year ago but I think there's a couple of budget models that incorporate lidar navigation now

@Aldonis: ok that's one…. you said a 'a couple' so what are the others?

    • agree. robot vacuums just aren't there yet.
doesn't matter what fancy marketing new tech they get stuck and they don't do a proper job cleaning.

the worst ones don't have the smarts to get back to the charger before the battery dies (they claim too but it doesn't work), so you will trip over it because it just randomly decided to die in the middle of the room.

I got a Lubluelu SL60, and it’s fine. Run it twice a week on hardwood flooring. The water reserve is quite small though. I didn’t get the auto-emptying station thing, but need to empty it probably every 2-3 weeks

I got the Lubluelu SL60D as part of https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/849275. Very surprised how good it is, the map scanning and how much dirt it picks up. I haven't used the mop function as I heard it isn't the best. I don't have the auto-emptying dock, but I pretty much empty mine after every full house clean which can be a hassle.

  • There's a number of LuBlueLu models that keep coming up in this price range.

With a current offer they're down around the $235-$250 range.

    I'm looking at ordering one..

We don't need (or want) the mop function so it's a bit of a shame they don't seem to offer a model that doesn't have it.
