I believe this is the cheapest this monitor has ever been.
Fantastic monitor if you're after a high hz 4K monitor without having to deal with any potential burn in from OLED's, I own the 240hz version and love it.

Overall I would recommend this over an OLED as there's less faffing about with subpixel layouts and babying Windows so it doesn't burn in, but that's personal preference. As with all Samsung monitors YMMV with the quality control on this, but it is in general a solid mid to high-end HDR monitor. Especially if you want to use it for work and gaming as it won't burn in like the OLEDs.
Some drawbacks.
* The 2000nits advertised peak brightness is bunk (it hovers around 1200 in real world use)
* Full screen bright scenes in HDR don't seem to get anywhere near as bright as my old Predator x27. OLEDs have this problem too.
* Viewing angles are not great. Not necessarily for colours but the backlight zone bloom gets pretty egregious off-axis (it's barely noticeable straight on, even in high contrast scenes). It's curved too, which adds to the fun.
* Overdrive and VRR don't seem to gel.Thinking about getting one for the home office where I can also use for console gaming when the kids are on the tv.
Only concern is the 1000R curvature and how work stuff like excel and PowerPoint will look on it. Any comments?
I used the monitor mostly solo (its 32") with PowerToys FacyZones and I'm an Excel monkey. It took some getting used to, but the curve didn't bother me. 1000R is a pretty aggressive curve though so you might be able to eyeball a similar monitor in a store to see if it's for you. There's a good video on it here https://youtu.be/SMcABSuKAK0
Thanks for the info! Looks like JB and HN don’t have these in store here in Brisbane CBD so I won’t be able to have a look but I’ll see where the nearest one is so I can take a look.
@pepto: I didn’t pull the trigger and it looks like it’s out of stock now…
Thanks! JB were willing to price match to can get an extra $30 off with the perks code.
Even though this is expired on Amazon office works price matched and still have it at $849. I managed to get JB to match and then got vouchers through work benefits at 4% off so got it for $815 in the end. Looking forward to setting her up tomorrow!
Finally got mine set up and it’s a thing of beauty! No issues with spreadsheets etc, will try out the ps5 tonight and work on the settings to get HDR right.
Subtle epeen flex?
