X500 does not have Aux in.

Motion X500 is like a taller X600 except the 500 has no tweeters and retail is $20 cheaper. it's probably more top heavy because of this maybe not great for outdoors as well since I hear the painted metal grill can get scratched up and looking miserable pretty quickly.
I think these are designed for indoor use.

I first thought the X500 was the bigger speaker but looks like not, it looks like it but the X600 is much wider so probably sounds bigger which is why it's more expensive.

Spec:
C Power Input 5V 3A

yeah but some users budget might be under $100 idk ymmv. another bonus of X600 is you can pick another prettier colour.

I didn't check EOFY coupon but stacking with newsletter coupon I think it brings it down to $81 but can't confirm.

  • Cheers OP. Bought the x600 with 10% signup discount, and got extra $6.50 off member discount. In total, I paid $111 with free shipping.

    • it’s a great price for the speaker.

      I just don’t need a speaker right now and $100 is $100.

I didn’t post X600 deal btw, but if linking to it helped make your decision great. 👍

  • Is there any portable speakers with Google Assistant?

    • X600 user manual says you can hold play/pause button and trigger google assistant/siri on your phone.

      is this what you mean?

      • Nope. I need something like Google Nest but better sound quality. Just say 'hey Google plays some kid songs' for my kid.

        • yeah those run the assistant on speaker, which means it needs WiFi connection.

not many options because battery life goes down the drain with WiFi.

just from a quick google search.
Sonos Move was a speaker that had it, but they removed it from Move 2 the one they sell now.

        • Nest Audio seems like it'd be good enough quality for a kid. Otherwise try pick up a second hand Sonos One (they dropped Google support on their newer ones).
