    nothing special, move along

No one should buy K1 over K1C (You can still get this deal, just send an offer)

Your colleague already posted this 'sale' here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854688

    • id be buying a bambu considering there sales still going.

      • There are pros & cons of going Bambu
The sale price looks to be a permanent price reduction which should further add to the competition.

        • what are the cons?

            @bob98:

            • closed ecosystem
            • cloud printing (LAN mode available but removes some functions)
            • can be harder to fix depending on issue
            • support quality?

I still recommend bambu printers though

@impoze: i run a business with just Bambu printers. i really believe the only reason im somewhat successful with it is because I'm using all bambu printers. i hardly have any downtime ive never worried about it being a closed ecosystem. could be right on harder to fix. but their support is 10/10 these days. I've dealt with them on the a1 recall and I've also dealt with them for another warranty issue. which was swiftly sorted. Their support used to be crap. but tbh i wouldnt go to any other brand now. im just praying they release a bigger printer soon.

            • @impoze: 1) Cloud printing isnt necessarily a con
              2) Fairly sure LAN mode you only lose the phone app - you can still use remote control via the software
              3) Harder to fix than the Creality K1 series? At least Bambu is very good about spare parts and documentation
              4) Agree.. but is Creality really better?

              • @NuclearWessels: Bambu is still a great option which I recommend, it's just not for some people.

I saw a post this week of a 'slicing queue' which was new, not a big deal as long as it gets processed quickly.

What is the exact difference over them? Isn't it K1C one has a carbon filter?

      • Apparently it is meant to be for 'Camera', but it does include the carbon air filter, and other improvements.

K1C has all-metal hot end, unicorn nozzles and a few other improvements

        • Does it have the AI camera that's on the K1 Max or is it just the one that overlooks the print bed? I've just turned off the AI camera as it keeps stopping prints for no reason at all (and ignoring messy print jobs that it should stop).

          • @banana365: I would say so but you can probably turn off the 'AI' on it too.

      • Suitable for Carbon Fiber 3D Printing

    • Agreed with all your points. It's a neg for me

Can confirm PDLizardSpock code doesn't work.

The laser engravers arent enclosed not eyeprotected?

    • Yeah, open laser cutters scare me a bit. The ones with the hood say you should still wear goggles, but that assumes you remember 100% of the time. There's too much room for error. I'm looking at a K40, partly for cost, partly as it's enclosed.

  • I haven't heard anything good about the creality k series.

I read a couple of reviews and it looked pretty bad, especially the mobile app, which spams you with notifications for unrelated crap.

People like to complain about Bambu printers being proprietary, but at least they work damn well.

I have a k1 and it works well. Have never used the app though. So can't comment on that.
