  • Thanks OP

  • +1

Only 2 months to IPhone 16 and Apple Watch X.

  • -1

Do you get 40x if you're an everyday extra member? or is this excluded.

    • +1

      LOL. exxcluded..

    • That’s probably one of the first bullet points they wrote for the exclusions template they always apply to promos such as this…

    • +1

Can’t post it on OzB until Monday at 5pm or if Woolies accidentally out up the wrong posters and someone snaps a pic.

      • Which rule is being broken if you post it early?

  • Is there a variable load version?

    • +1

      There’s a variable load available, between $20 to $500.

  • Reading the fine print in the photo suggests the highest denomination (shown) is $50. Would have to raid a few stores!

    • +4

All denominations of Apple gift cards are eligible for the 20x points including the $20-500 variable load card.

    • +1

Most likely max limit is $4999.

      • Thanks. Hoping to get an m4 max so figured I better start stocking up and add to my Apple account

  • Equivalent to how much discount in % ?

    • 10%

    • +1

Actually less than 10% (9.091%) as it’s not a discount straight away. You get back 10% in points.

      • If we can purchase 5% ww gift card, does it mean we only got 4% discount effectively?

  • -1

can you use Woolies e-Gift Gard to purchase these?

    • No.

      • It is against the terms and conditions of gift cards issued by Woolworths Group (e.g. Woolworths Supermarket gift card, WISH gift card) to use them as a payment method of any gift cards or vouchers.

      • If you attempt to redeem a Woolworths Group gift card at the checkout when purchasing a gift card, you will run into an Items Not Allowed error message (and a staff member will need to clear the error message before you can continue with the purchase).

  • Is there a max of 10 cards per day?

  • Donno how many cards would require to buy if I would like to buy out an Apple Vision Pro headset.

  • I need to purchase a new M4 MacBook Pro (Typically October release), along with 2 x iPhone 16 models (Typically September release). By spending $10,000 on gift cards and using my Amex to buy them, I'll earn a total of 111,250 Qantas points—100,000** from everyday rewards transferred into Qantas points and 11,250 from my Amex Platinum card.

With 108,400 points needed for a one-way Business Class flight from Sydney to San Francisco plus $356.09 AUD in taxes, or 102,400 points for a return economy flight to Dallas, this offers a compelling deal. Additionally, you can reclaim GST on these purchases, at the airport if you are an individual saving around $900, or receive a 100% tax write-off if used for business purposes.

For those purchasing Apple products outright and valuing Qantas Business Class travel, stocking up now seems advantageous, especially with upcoming overseas travel plans.

**$10,000 x 20 everyday rewards points = 200,000 everyday rewards points or 100,000 Qantas Points if you transfer them.

    • You'd need to repay any GST refund you have received if you bring them back into the country. Of course you can run the risk of them not pulling you to the side on your return, but if you're planning on claiming $5-10k on departure I reckon there's a good chance your passport will be flagged on return. You also can't claim if you're buying the products for a business. So whilst you think your plan is great, it's also illegal.

      • This is basically what every small/medium business does - over claiming expenses and under reporting income - its why business owners are far better off than any salary earner on the same income.

        • Just because everyone does it, doesn’t make it legal.

          • @EFC94: Of course not, but nobody is interested in fixing it - they are too busy telling salary earners they are rich and should pay more taxes.

  • I was asked for my TFN at checkout when purchasing $500 Apple gift cards on the variable denomination card. Is that normal?

    • No. I’ve never been asked that every time I get them. Why did they want it?

    • I think you mean ABN. And they ask if you’re buying this for business purposes

      • They specifically said tfn and not abn. They didn’t ask whether it was for business purposes, just said it was for a big amount

  • They said for scam/fraud. They typed my name, address and tfn into the system and needed to see my ID.

They didn’t ask for it for the $50 cards.

    • I got variable load ones from Woolworths before and I put $500 on them and I wasn’t asked any of that.

    • Got 2 $500 ones today. Wasn’t asked anything. The staff member actually asked if he could open and check if they’re tampered with before scanning them through.

  • Seems weird to me but I’ve only ever got $100 ones before. Just wondering if that is the norm.

  • Anyone can confirm if you get 20x Rewards Points for variable gift cards? Thanks

    • Yes mine was in account within a min

  • Perfect. I can pay my homeland security infringement notice, and earn points at the same time!

(This is a joke. You knew that right? Just checking.)

  • +1

Got 2 $500 ones but it took irregularly long time for activation at the checkout. Upon redeeming, it said code was invalid. Contacted apple support, they checked everything and said those gift cards were not activated and I shall go back to Woolworths. Now I have to wait for 24 hours before my local Woolworths attempt to help me with anything as there’s a disclaimer on the receipts said it may take up to 24 hours to activate which has never happened in my past experiences.

The customer service at WW reckoned the national outage is affecting it.

  • Is this available all stores? I don’t see any sign at my local Woolworths store that say you can earn x20 rewards points from Apple gift cards

  • +1

I went to my store this afternoon and wasn't able to 'activate' my cards at the checkout due to the outage. Store manager said this may be an issue over the weekend. Anyone else having issues?

    • +1

Mine was activated at the checkout however, it’s been 5 hours and I still cannot load it to my apple account. No signs of gift cards being tampered and apple said it’s not yet activated by WWS.

I was told by WWS to wait for 24 hours before they are willing to rectify errors from their end.

      • +2

I’m the same. Bought $1k worth this evening and got 5 ‘successfully activated’ receipts, but all cards say invalid code when trying to redeem. Hopefully will be resolved once this national outage is sorted.

        • +1

Keep us updated on how you go..might hold off buying more until it is resolved!

          • +1

@groovy dude: I suggest to hold off, I went in the store today and all they can do was to provide a customer service line for me to log the issue on my own, it will take days for their third party gift card team to investigate, then they will get back to me with a solution. Now I’m missing $1000 in my bank account. I’m prepared to file a dispute with the bank when the transaction is no longer pending.

I do not appreciate the fact WWS doesn’t take the responsibility for selling something that’s not working and refusing to refund. Global IT issues or whatnot shouldn’t be consumers’ problem to carry.

  • Is there a limit to how many gift cards we can buy during the promotional period? Or would it be better to split between 2 x everyday rewards?

    • +1

The only purchase limits for this deal are:

      • The points earn limit in the terms and conditions of this deal (which I have pasted below).

For cards with a fixed value, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member (can be done across multiple transactions). For variable card where you choose the amount to load, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member in a single transaction.

      • The number or dollar amount of gift cards that Woolworths staff are willing (or allowed) to sell you.
      • Ok the limit at my local WW is $1,000.

        • +1

You can purchase more than $1000, but it has to be in a multiple transactions.

  • Just bought 5 x $500 variable cards to Woolies. 2 of the 5 failed to activate. We then went through a whole process of trying to refund for other cards. Took ages, but thankfully they were very patient. In the end I could only get $2300 and they refunded me $200 back to my card.

Walked 50m to the apple store and used the confirmed activated ones immediately.

  • Is it still available ? I don't see any 20x at woolworth today

    • They pull signage down on Tuesday ( getting ready for new catalogue tomorrow)
Is on page 39 of NSW catalogue ending midnight Sydney time.
