[QLD] Dewalt DCK2050E2T-XE 18V 1.7Ah XR Li-Ion Cordless Brushless 2pce PowerStack Kit + Bonus Battery $299 in-Store @ TradeTools

200

Fantastic deal on a great value kit from Dewalt. Was already a good deal at $379 but a fantastic deal now at $299.

Whilst the 1.7ah POWERSTACK batteries may not suit tradies, I like how light they are for home use.

Includes:

1 x (DCD805N-XJ) DeWALT 18V Compact 2-Speed Hammer Drill Skin
1 x (DCF850N-XJ) DeWALT 18V Brushless Compact 3-Speed Impact Driver
2 x (DCBP034-XJ) DeWALT 18V 1.7Ah POWERSTACK Compact Batteries
1 x (DCB112-XE) DeWALT Charger
1 x (DWST83345-1) DeWALT TSTAK IP54 Shallow Case

In store only, I just picked up the last one from Brendale in QLD.

Although not noted on the ad, you receive an extra 1.7ah POWERSTACK battery on purchase.

Is DeWalt best of the best?

    • -6

      No, by far not.

        What's the best?

        • Black & Decker

          Ozito

Festool in general if they make a competing product. DeWalt can be quite good though. Similar to Makita.

@gravelc: More expensive doesn't mean better. I wouldn't say Festool's drills and impact drivers are better than Dewalt's, and definitely not several times as good like the price would imply. I also prefer the Dewalt installation driver to the Festool CXS.

        • Makita, the original and pioneer of battery operated tools

      • I'm guessing you're Milwaukee fanboy then

I bought a set of dewalt cordless tools three years ago and use them very frequently on the farm, so far no failures,

    • Depends on which tool and your requirements.

I'd say it's the best value of all the trade-quality brands.
Anything more costly is probably overkill for DIY, but anything cheaper is going to struggle to last more than a few years of avid DIY usage.

They're up there for sure. Maybe not the best but how can you define that?

In many case it comes down to personal opinion e.g. "I'm a Milwaukee guy" etc.

They also have a very decent range of tools unlike some which might be important to you. Also have some decent deals on Amazon and the various Tooshops.

I tend to use DeWalt by choice but recognise they're expensive for things you might only use a few times and in that case I go for Ozito as they're backed by Bunnings and are actually an Einhell variant. For 12V stuff I've found the ToolPro brand at SCA to be very good and being physically smaller are really useful around the home/car and my partner much prefers them.

I've tried Ryobi but frankly find their batteries die way too early, even having rebalanced them etc. My oldest DeWalts are now 10 years old and still work fine, even with heavy loads like an angle grinder. Ironically there some decent adaptors available to use DeWalt batteries on Ryobi tools - they work great but don't let them fully discharge as their internal design is different.

Edit - have not mentioned Aldi tools. They're okay, seemingly also an Einhell variant and we have a couple which work fine and the batteries appear to be okay but they're only available every so often which is why I go for Ozito for DIY etc.

    • I'd say so! It powered through faster than my mates red 18v fuels

This is Trade Tools not Total Tools that really limits the availability but good deal otherwise

Im chippy and use this everyday. Excellent kit

  • Shame only in Qld

  • Doesn't look like I can get this in Perth

    • +1

Total tools in Perth matched this price but couldn't confirm the bonus battery yet.

  • Doesn't look like their website shows it comes with a bonus battery.

    • +1

It doesn’t say on the website but they gave me one when I picked it up yesterday

  • No bonus battery for me at Nambour. Did ask them but no one had a clue about it

  • Sorry just saw you did say Brendale! I actually called the Brendale store so I could get the info for Nambour and the Brendale store are actually going to send me a dcb184-xe battery or arrange for it at Nambour. Great service really.

Good news. Yeah that's excellent service. I found them to be great to deal with.
