½ Price Life Botanics Pure Marine Collagen Powder $20 @ Coles
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/183237/114125/screensh…

Another one with Blueberry flavour is also same price $20 at Coles:
https://www.coles.com.au/product/life-botanics-pure-marine-c…

10g collagen per serve unflavored (unless if you choose blueberry flavour). I think this one is one of the cheapest collagen product at the moment with bigger amount of collagen. Many other collagen products have lower amount of collagen per serve like under 1g or between 1g to 3g. Other brands with similar or higher amount of collagen per serve are much more expensive ($45 is the cheapest price of Dose & Co Marine Collagen Unflavoured @Chemist Warehouse and $37.69 Vital Proteins Marine Collagen Unflavoured @Direct Chemist Outlet).

The company's website mentions that Pure Marine Collagen Powder supports:
• Collagen levels
• Skin hydration
• Skin elasticity
• Skin integrity
• Healthy hair, skin, and nails

Direction:
Mix 2 scoops (10g) of powder into 200mL of water or any hot or cold beverage of your choice.

According to the link above from other collagen brand (Vital Proteins):
"Taking collagen supplements can be helpful at any age, however you might not benefit from the full effects as you would if you were slightly older. Introducing collagen supplements between the ages of 20 and 30 might be more beneficial, as this is when amino acids needed to make collagen, can start to decline."

"Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body that helps give structure to your skin, hair, nails, bones, ligaments and tendons."

"Signs of Collagen Deficiency:
• Joint Pain
• Decreased Mobility
• Decreased Skin Elasticity
• Thinning of the hair"

Warning:
Marine Collagen is sourced from fish. Not suitable for vegan/vegetarian or people who have allergy to fish for example.

Another source of collagen is from Bovine. Collagen sourced from bovine is usually cheaper than marine collagen, but … Read more at the bottom.

The cheapest bovine collagen with similar amount of collagen I found from google:
Vital Proteins brand $29.24 at the moment:
      https://www.directchemistoutlet.com.au/vital-proteins-collag…

Or from Chemist Warehouse $37.99 :
      https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/118232/vital-protein…

      Another brand Dose & Co $34.99 :
      https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/126197/dose-amp-co-c…

Or could be cheaper from ebay but I prefer to buy in-store.

      From article below:
"Marine collagen is the best source of Collagen type I. Collagen type I makes up 80 percent of our skin and works with elastin to help structure the skin, supporting hair follicles. Due to the smaller molecular size of hydrolyzed marine collagen, marine collagen is absorbed 1.5 times better than bovine collagen and dissolves better in cold and warm drinks."

"Marine collagen might be a better choice for those wanting faster results, those with hair, skin, and nail concerns, and those that don't eat cow products. On the other hand, bovine is slightly cheaper and might be the better choice for those with gut problems."

It's good to read the whole article from the link above.

I use the HCP from Bulk Nutrients. Not sure if meets your idea of cheap though. :)

      • How many grams of collagen per serve? I cannot find it in its ingredients. All I informed here are at least 10 grams per serve.

          Dosage
Consume 25g (~3/4 flat scoop). For benefits to hair, skin and nails: 5g (~1 heaped teaspoon). For optimising bone, joint and cartilage health: 10g (~2 heaped teaspoon). To assist with muscle building and recovery: 25g (~3/4 scoop).
*Please note a 25g dose is effective for all benefits.

I just chuck a scoop in my cuppa tea every couple of days.

          • @EightImmortals: I checked that $47 for 750 grams a bag is 75 serve if per serve is 10 grams. So, per serve is $0.62 which is much cheaper :) than Costco ($0.78 per serve 10 grams) or the one in Coles that I inform here ($1.33 per serve 10 grams).

25 grams per serve is maybe too much and only good if you do exercise. I read from certain articles that if too much/excessive collagen for certain people may cause side effects such as kidney stone, scleroderma. Not sure about this, should drink a lot of water. For most people maybe okay.

    • I saw that but it looks like it's not sold directly by Woolworths (third party, online only?). I cannot find stock from local Woolworths stores. If you can find it inside Woolworths store, inform me :-)

For anyone with Costco membership and looking for Bovine collagen. They have Vital proteins collagen powder on special.
    link

Works out for $6.6 per 100g.

    • Buy cheaper when 50% Topcashback from Priceline ;-)

    • Nice find for this cheaper Bovine collagen. I check again, the online price at Costco is $53.49. This one is specific for Costco as it is bigger (680 grams), total 68 serve. So per serve is $0.78 cheaper actually per serve :-)

  • I have a feeling this is snake oil at its finest, but I really hope I'm wrong.

This product has some benefits sometimes to some people.

I prefer bovine sourced collagen - like https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/118237/vital-protein… - which is better for tendons and cheaper.

      • The price is not cheap for me … Maybe I'll only buy when it's much cheaper like half price or Topcashback 50% from Priceline :P marine collagen for me.

      • You shared the link from Chemist Warehouse which is 1 serve = $1.07

Cheaper online at Costco with bigger size 680 grams, so 1 serve is $0.78

      • Even cheaper in-store at Costco $0.63 per serve if compared with Chemist Warehouse $1.07 per serve at the moment. Someone said about the price in-store from the comment above.

    • Vital Proteins brand for example is chosen by Jennifer Aniston and look at how "young" she is :P

I read someone said collagen products should be encapsulated to be effective. I just wanna try this high amount of collagen and it's much cheaper than many other brands with high amount of collagen.
