ShopBack Myer 76.8% Cashback

I see there were a few deals posted about this, but they've all been unpublished as unobtainable.

It would be nice to be able to view the deal and the reason it's unobtainable.
It looks obtainable when I use the shopback site, so what's the problem?

Unpublishing deals with a generic reason doesn't help anyone understand, nor stop it being posted again.

    Someone tried it already and only small percentage of cashback, not that big 76.8% cashback. So, it's an error from Shopback.

    • Got a link? I couldn’t find any other posts re this, possibly because they've been unpublished

      • No link for previous post anymore. Someone did the shopping and only got cashback like under 6% if I remember correctly.

    • The shopback page also says this which suggests it's meant to do that?

      "Your Cashback may be tracked at a different rate initially and adjusted to the correct rate when we confirm the transaction details."

  • Ok, 76.8% cashback from Myer does sound crazy, but is this known to be an error, or just assumed to be an error? (Email from ShopBack says 15%, but ShopBack app says 76.8%).

    • Shopback homepage says flash sale from 6pm-10pm for up to 15% (6.9% on toys, home, entertainment, childrensware, 15% everything else). Was up to 4%

  • I've placed two click and collect orders to see if it tracks, then like everyone else will have a cry to shopback after.

        If it tracks correctly then I can easily pick it up, if it doesn’t then I leave it and automatically get a refund.

            We understand that you may no longer wish to continue with this order and as such we have been in touch with MYER to confirm what you should do next if this is the case.

            For delivery orders:

  • Was anyone able to get shopback claim of the 75%?

    • Doesnt usually track that fast so you wont know until later today or tomorrow

  • I was looking for some info on this here because my wife alerted me to it. Sounded too good to be true to get the Dune Lego for $50 lol

  • Doubt it will get paid out and suspect shopback will just say Myer didn't pay it, even if Myer weren't responsible for the error.

    As usual… they dont even bother to check before releasing a promo… nothing new. Long time a go I complaining and their answer is sorry we don't have time and staff to check

  • I bought earlier to test the water on both ShopBack and TopCashback

    ShopBack was tracked at the 15% rate instead, already submitted the incorrect rate to CS
    Did the same for TopCashback and submitted the highest cashback guarantee too

          What happens if there are " clearance items " in the order, do Myer still accept the returns?

    @gotyourback you didn’t “goof” you falsely advertised and misled your customers. I have raised 2 tickets and sent 4 emails about this issue since Saturday. I now have used products from Myer that I cannot return since you swapped out your cash back % after my purchase. You need to honour the 76.8%

      To make things right, we offer you two options:

      • Return the item for a full refund, no questions asked. We'll bare the Shipping cost
      • Keep the item and receive a 15% Cashback adjustment (instead of 8%).

    I can’t return the items as they have already been used. Don’t you understand. You promised 76.8% back and it was successfully tracked. You need to deliver it.
    The ACCC have rules against this type of false advertising and I will make an official complaint unless you resolve this issue with me and your other customers. @gotyourback

        Didnt the original GYB leave SB and the account is managed by different staff members now?

    • I completely understand your frustration and the situation you’re facing. It’s very disappointing when companies fail to honour the promises that influenced our purchasing decisions, especially when the items can’t be returned because they’ve already been used. It’s clear that this situation has affected many of us, and we deserve a fair resolution.
      If ShopBack doesn’t respond appropriately and this issue is not resolved promptly and fairly, you can lodge a formal complaint with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). They take misleading advertising very seriously and can investigate further. It's also suggested to consider sharing your experience on social media or consumer review platforms.

    @Gervais fanboy appreciate what you’re saying. I guess there is a lot of frustration considering how much I have tried to reach out to shopback with no response.

    @gotyourback my cashback against this ShopBack “pricing error” has been “calculating” since 13/7/24. I have emailed and no replies in a week. Can you assist please. It has been 2 weeks since my purchase. I think I have been fair in waiting 2 weeks for a response + cashback but I have received nothing. If no reply I will go to the ACCC on the grounds of false and misleading advertising and communication negligence.
