Accessing Everyday Insurance on Comparethemarket for $110 Cashback

Hello,

I am trying to sell my car and I am a first-time user of comparethemarket. I am trying to get a car insurance policy for as cheap as possible as the car will barely be driven (~20km a week) and I intend to sell ASAP, and some kind people here have given some tips (pro-rata refund strategy and annual plan to save).

I noticed that Everyday Insurance have a pay as you drive option, and I could select approx 19km per week. This is great and if I select high excess, e.g. $2k it brings the insurance cost to $970 a year. It is $1075 with $1.5k excess, I might consider that too. Apparently $800 excess for undeclared drivers (which will be for test drivers of my car).

My main question is: on topcashback there is cashback of $110 for car insurance through comparethemarket, which I want to use with Everyday Insurance. However, when I input my car info on comparethemarket, none of the quotes that appear are from Everyday Insurance, but if I go directly through the Everyday Insurance website, I easily get a quote. Is it possible for me to access the cashback somehow?

There's an Everyday Insurance promo code for 24k woolies rewards points over a period, but this $110 CB is much better for me. Apparently need to hold the insurance for at least 60 days for the cashback.

Thanks in advance.

  • Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong here, but i seem to remember that because you can’t get a cover note these days, insurance companies will cover you from the day you sign up and give you x amount of days to pay and or a cooling off period.

I never really paid attention to the details of it as i just pay immediately, but perhaps you could sign up for a policy and use the grace period for payment to try sell the car.

Of course you should check the pds carefully if you go down that road.

cover note not these days anymore??

      • Not the ones i have tried, they say sign up first, pay later and you’re covered.
