$10 for referee and $10 for referrer, after referee makes $20 purchase within 14 days.
well yes maybe they're selling data.. maybe a front for a three letter agency wanting to scoop up anyone who feels a need to use a VPN.. but most likely just hoping folks will forget to turn off autorenew, and they don't need many of those to turn a tidy profit?
they hid a data breach from the public for months. they keep logs. you are the product
lol you're describing every company ever
Are you saying that security experts are wrong and proton and mullvad are just as bad as Nord?
@belongsinforums: It's very rare for a company to disclose a breach. Most companies will risk a fine than risk tanking their share price. Most companies won't disclose a breach immediately unless they're forced to, usually because a bad actor is selling the stolen data. Sometimes there's a good reason not to disclose a breach immediately.
Companies that say they don't keep, don't keep logs…until they're caught out keeping logs…or they're forced to. Proton provides exceptional privacy but that isn't always the case and may change in the future. https://www.wired.com/story/protonmail-amends-policy-after-g…
IIRC, NordVPN used to have a no log policy.
To your last point, I'm genuinely interested to know what data NordVPN monetises?
Timing out for anyone else when trying to click on shop now?
How long does it take for the tracking information email to come ?
Got mine in less than an hour tonight!
135 spent, trackback received 116.
I’ve got the Surfshark one, is NordVPN any better? Does anyone have Pro’s and cons of using each?
Amazing. thanks @Aleigh123. Been waiting for this.
Charged $122.85 on 28 Degrees. Tracked $116.43 on CR. $6 for 2 years of Nord. Can't complain :D
Mine shows it's tracking and estimated approval 16/1/24 how accurate is that, do they normally pay out earlier? I'm new to cashback
How do Nord win from this deal? I was under the impression that if something was "free" the company concerned instead made their money by selling personal details to mailing lists etc
According to Linus Tech Tips who briefly contemplated running a VPN service, such a service doesn't cost that much money to run - profit margins are very good. They eventually decided against it due to legal hassles.
If profit margins are huge, I'm guessing Nord makes enough money to subsidise a whole bunch of free accounts with the hope that maybe 1 in 100 will continue the subscription which could be enough to cover the free accounts and probably make some profit as well.
what is the price? showing as US$95.76 for me. No priceing in deal..
With 100% cashback, is it worth to get the "Complete" version for two years to take the most advantage?
I confirm it didn't work for "Complete". Full amount was not tracked for "Complete"
With Nord VPN, can we login to multiple devices (phones) and connect to VPN at the same time?
I think so.
Missed it :(
Is this better than expressvpn?
anyone elses not tracking, been a few days now, no option to "send a claim"
basic 2 years
Mine's been 2 days so far and not tracking yet. Help suggests that the send a claim button will appear 7 days after transaction. But I'm still most likely gonna e-mail them before that.
How often do these 100% cashback pop up?
Not sure whether to get a vpn… yify.. tixati.. torrents .. tpb..
a simple search for "NordVPN" at the top will show you dates.
Mine just expired as this one popped up, I waited like 2 days then voila it appeared.
Gotta use a new e-mail everytime though which is annoying but that's the price we pay for being cheap!
Keep missing these cash back specials
Me too
My cashback hasnt appeared in my account as pending yet.
Should I wait 7 days or should I email them?
I'm worried that my browser (brave) had some ad-blockers on which caused it to not track, and if I wait too long, I wont get the cashback and wont be able to get a refund from Nord.
Yes, Brave browser has adblocker built-in. There are other settings that need to be changed too in order for cashback to be tracked properly.
If you really want to use Brave for cashback tracking purposes:
In Brave settings - Brave Shields & Privacy:
✓ Block trackers & ads: Allow all trackers & ads
✓ Block cookies: Allow all cookies
✓ Block Fingerprinting: Allow all fingerprinting
✓ Prevent fingerprinting via language settings: disable this
✓ Content filtering: all should be disabled
✓ Send a "Do not track request": Off
Many times I mentioned that I only use Chrome mobile browser for cashback transactions … It's better for you to just use Chrome mobile browser (no add-ons) for cashback transactions.
Thing is, if the cashback didnt register. Can cashrewards still claim it from NordVPN and get my 100% back later on after I claim or not?
So far never fail with Cashrewards, so I don't know the answer for sure about your question.
Can someone explain why Nord does this? I used to see them as pretty trustworthy based in Panama with a no logs policy, but the past few years it's endless ads on YouTube and 98%+ cashbacks. How can they really not be collecting anything and essentially giving the product away? These cashback deals have done nothing but make me sceptical and actually pushed me away from them
