    Wow!
I didn't pay that much for my original brand new C64!

Really? I paid $499 for my C=64 in 1983 dollars. You must have been late to the party?

Much like the "houses used to be cheap" argument, sure but a 42cm TV took you 3 months to save for, and you actually did without much else.

tech experiences deflation though to economies of scale and innovation

while house prices track inflation plus being supercharged by big australia thanks to political short-termism

it's probably one of the worst comparisons you can make

which was more than an ounce of gold, price in todays gold that's over 4.2k aussie

So…you bought one a few days ago for $166.24. This one is $169.61. How much is it usually? Where's the bargain?

    • free shipping from Germany. ($60+) right in front to my doorstep with me wearing pijama picking it up :)

Doubt you can find this in any Australia store/online within Australia

      • You do know a German keyboard isn't the same layout as an Australian US keyboard… ?

        • I would not be too surprised if this came with ANSI layout instead of ISO (so US layout instead of German key layout).

If it doesn't, it does advertise 87 keys (ISO layout have one more key, 88 keys), so technically they were advertising a wrong layout if it came with 88 keys? One of the youtubers who I watch for keyboard reviews also received ANSI layout one, and given his preference for ISO layout, wouldn't be too surprised if this keyboard only came in ANSI layout.

That said, easier to just get that confirmed with Amazon.

I bought one of these a few weeks back. Great device for C64 nerds. :-)

  • I wanted to pre-order this but the $250 preorder price tag put me off (this coming from me who spent 300 on a das keyboard). This is much more acceptable.

    Can I get an Amstrad?

  • Do people buy these mainly for the aesthetics?

    • Decently priced tri-mode hot swap mech keyboard, and numpad accessory coming out soon

  • +1

The numpad releases 15 July, I'm waiting for that

  • whats c64? commodore?

    • +1

These aren’t the terms you are looking for…. Move along… move along

  • Man, I really want one of these to use with my Commodore 1701 monitor / raspberry pi setup for Retro gaming.

I'll wait till it confirmed US Layout, and maybe until it's a little cheaper.
