They are pretty generous with extras

    • They are huge in Tassie

      • I used them not long ago and they were great.

        • why did you change

    • They are a registered health fund and member-owned. What more do you want?

  • After researching policies, I found St Lukes has the cheapest Gold Hospital policy in QLD, and probably all Australia, bar restricted client (eg only for employees) policies. I only looked at policies open to everyone in QLD. That policy has a $1000 excess and notably does not exempt the policy holder from MLS, so it’s not for everyone. I recently had a surprise hospital visit, one night, minor surgery, cost $10,000. All I did was provide insurance details to the hospital, and pay my $1000 excess to the hospital.

  • I am looking at AHM (8 weeks free offer) as someone mentioned that their reset is 1st July so I checked with them and they have confirmed. I will be moving as soon as I get my 150k points from Woolworths for Bupa offer. Apparently some IT issue with Woolworths so points are not being deposited.

    • You need to pay 60 days for 6 weeks free and the other 2 are after 1 year. As a churned I prefer 30 days to maximise my savings.

I got the AHM (my 2nd extras only policy so didnt declare i have secondd combined policy with Bupa). Churned on 30/6 1030pm and got all the extras of last financial year carried over so now have double the cover fot same price. Also got $250 TCB CTM cashback, will be eligible for $100 AHM cashback in september and also get the 6 weeks free after 60 days.
Already claimed $200 optical on 30/6 as it does not roll over.

  • Moved to St Luke's about 5 years ago from Bupa. Extremely satisfied. Every time I visit the dentist they always comment on how St Luke's is generous, particularly with preventative dental. We spend less per fortnight with them for much larger cover than we had with Bupa.

    • how is this possible?
Bupa is $220/m (Bronze Plus Simple Hospital 750 + Core Extras) and St Lukes quote is $295/m for the similar cover (Bronze Plus Hospital 750 + Super Extras). Actually, only 2 Extras plans to choose from..
Bupa provides 2 free cleans/check ups (valued appx $250) per year and I dont see anything similar from St L..

      • St Lukes Gold Hospital $1000, $167.55/m (hospital only)
