Xiaomi Pad Pro and Family Link

Hi All,

Looking to replace my kid's aging Lenovo M10 with the Xiaomi Pad Pro. Can someone confirm if this supports multiple profiles and if it works with Google Family Link for child accounts.

Any issues or drawbacks using it with Family Link?

Edit: Clarifying that I mean this tablet - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/xiaomi-pad-6-pro

  • I hope you mean the actual xiaomi not the XioaMl crap on AliExpress.

The Xiaomi Pad Pro doesn't appear to use Android.

    • What does it use then? Surely not iOS.

It says it uses HyperOS (whatever that means).

HyperOS just means they took Android and made it worse but it is still Android.

Just what I thought. It runs Android and pjetson has no idea what they're talking about.

@Clear: I read many pages on their web site, but I could find no mention of Android. So, I said it "doesn't appear to use Android". I was wrong - HyperOS is apparently based on Android 14.

  • If you purchase the Pad Pro from JB, then it will work as it has Google Services built-in. But if you buy it from China, it may not have Google Services and Family Link will NOT without Google Services. (The Current HyperOS is based on Android 13/14 so it is still Android)

    • Link to the JB listing?

      • As JB sells Xiaomi products, I am just quoting that as the official global product. There are lots of Lenovo / Redmi / Oppo/ Vivo products on AliExpress/eBay but they comes with China ROM which doesn't have Google Services.

        • Gotcha. I couldnt find it on JB

        • For the China ROMs on Lenovo and Xiaomi you just need to enable Google Services in the Settings and install Google Play from the app store.

          • @Clear: @Clear Does that mean Family Link will work on the china ROM?

  • Are you talking about Xiaomi's Redmi Pad Pro?
