Do Gift Card Purchases Count Towards Eligible Credit Card Spend?

"Eligible transactions" are generally defined the same way between the banks, i.e. its a retail purchase, not a cash advance, non-govt payments.

I can't recall if discounted gift cards are fine or are they treated like cash and become a cash advance?

(These are Virgin and NAB cards)

    Generally yes. Instore almost certainly. Online from a giftcard portal usually works as well.

    It's wholly subject to the PDS for each card.
