Best 65" 4K TV in the market

Hey Ozbers,

I am looking to buy a new TV, for the sole purpose of streaming 4K movies through Fire TV 4k max. So the "smart" features of the TV are not really relevant to me. Most important feature is the "cinema" experience - HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Atmos and anything else that improves the 4k streaming experience. No use for gaming or sports, purely 100% cinema.

As per the size of the room and distance from seating, I have decided 65" screen is ideal.
My question is what tv is best for these requirements?
I went through previous forum discussions on LG vs Samsung and felt like LG is slightly more favoured for build+picture quality.
There are heaps of models under LG and internet really did not help much to narrow it down, as models differ in technology, but I don't actually understood how that would translate to watching 4k content.

LG 4k TV range in 2024 as I researched:
OLED - G, C, B… series
OLED evo (same as OLED but "smarter/AI"?)
QNED (same as Nanocell but picture quality poor than OLED?)
UHD (not many sources discuss this, is this the old tech?)

Budget is $4k. No rush, so can wait for up to 6 months for a good deal.

    Bear in mind that most movies are 2.4:1 not 16:9. This means that the movie will have black borders at the top and bottom. I would go up a size to 75" if it'll fit for this reason. Or are you happy to zoom in on the picture to eliminate the black borders? The picture would be about 1600 pixels vertically.

    I'd get a LG G or C for the Dolby Vision. It really makes a difference.

    The 77” C4 was $3700 earlier this week if you can fit it. That’s probably the best deal under 4k - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854427

    Otherwise the Sony A95K/L are the best 65” units. The K has been as low as $3100, not sure about the L.

    Easy, LG OLED C or G series. G3 or G4 would be ideal.

    Ive got a Sony 75 x950h and a tcl 50 845, both have Dolby Vision, the TCL is Mini LED, id say that really pops in comparison to the Sony. Whatever Panel type you end up getting make sure it can handle Dolby Vision.

      Thanks @Drone166 would G4 be worth for non-gaming use, such as streaming only? Curious, as I read G4 has better processor for 144Hz optimal for gaming.
