LG C9 Black Screen

My LG C9, purchased from TGG in 2019, now has a black screen. It initially showed horizontal lines and has since become completely black. What could be causing this issue, and is there a possibility of getting it repaired by LG?

What could be causing this issue.

LG should repair it, especially considering the price of a C9 in 2019, so long as you have proof of purchase. They'll say no at first, but then start mentioning ACL. You can also try going back to TGG first, as they're the retailer (but they'll likely point you to LG after 5 years).

The expected lifespan of a TV in a case a few years ago was 8 years - https://www7.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/viewdoc/au/cases/vic/VCA… - and that was for a $1k TV.

  • Worthwhile to ask.

If you don't ask, you don't get.

  • Go through the GG first and see what they say, usually send an assessor out and get the panel replaced or refunded under ACL

  • Sounds like failed mother board.
